Mum told me she had a dream that The Carnival Is Over was played at her funeral. Her dream came true ; 24-10-1930 to 27-1-2020 RIP MUM.
  • R.I.P. Judith. Easily the best female vocalist, in my opinion.
  • I had this song playing at my mothers funeral. It was her favourite. I play it at times holding her photo and we dance around my kitchen. And I can guarantee you that the sun shines through the window and I know its her.I miss my mum she was my best friend. 💖

Your Carnival may be over but your voice will live forever rest in peace Judith
  • Rest In Peace, Judith Durham. The carnival is not over until we stop hearing what Elton John called “the purest voice in pop.”

Rip Judith Durham. One of the most beautiful and distinctive voices ever, people are always peeling onions near me when I hear this song.
  • This was the first single I ever bought aged 9. What a beautiful voice she had. RIP Judith and thank you 🙏

My husband passed some six years ago and this particular song brought us comfort when he learnt his illness was incurable. We often played it as we sat cuddled in together. We both wanted the world to stop revolving but that was sheer fantasy and wishful thinking. We were blessed with four more months together and I cannot say how often we played this song. Of course, I still miss my husband more than words can express, however, I have my memories and this beautiful song. To those out there who have lost a loved one, I send you love and prayers and for those deeply in love, I ask that you remember to tell one another how much you really do love them.
  • Such a sad day today, losing the wonderful Judith. This song has been part of my life for so many years, and now the carnival really is over. RIP, Judith Durham.

I think we'll still be listening to this and other Seekers' hits for years to come. I know I will. Judith's wonderful voice won't die.

Such a sad day today. The wonderful Judith Durham, lead singer of The Seekers passed away today aged 79. Truly one of the great voices of all time

Judith Durham the perfect example of who singers were in the past. No auto tunes, no back up singers, dressing with modesty.
