A Dutch man is the pilot in command, a German is a Flight Engineer, an American is a Radar technician. Good to see different countrys that work together.

Huge respect to your editors. Especially their audio skills

BBC interviewer - “So tell us Major Diebels, as the pilot in command, who is flying the plane now?” Major Diebels - “ah crap….”
-
I am astonished by the commitment of the BBC crew, which spent 7 hours airborne to give us a glimpse on all these people who keep our sky safe these troublesome days!
-
“I am the radar technician, I’m in charge of the radar, we use it to scan the air” I love that this man is both trying to boil it down as much as possible to avoid both complicated terms and classified terms lol

Very multi-national aircraft team. Americans, Dutch, Estonians, Germans and others. Great to see them work together. It is a genuinely NATO aircraft.
-
I would not have ever thought of the crew being as international that it is
-
I flew AWACS 1980-90......I Thank this crew for their service !!
-
Ah yes, that is very good audio balancing BBC News. 10/10 effort to your editors.
-
Really nice to see all the different nationalities actually working together on the plane rather than by each nation individually working for NATO.
-
It’s really awesome seeing all these different country’s men and women working together so closely
-
I feel so isolated seeing the passenger deck without window and closed space
-
"does it ever feel like you are just watching..?" ..literally their job.. brilliant
-
My left and right ears enjoyed this very much (separately from one another mind)

Is there a longer segment of this news report? Seems pretty short report for a 8 hour flight.
-
Really fantastic audio skills! Unbelievable!! Thank you editor's!!!
-
BBC as always, nailing audio! By the way, great coverage of the situation.
-
Even though I spent almost 2 years driving to, from and around these planes stationed at Tinker AFB, bringing and servicing ground equipment, I never realy got to look inside. Thanks for the peek

Great work on the sound mix here ... can whoever edited this get taught what stereo is?

So how you missed Soviet era drone going 1000km in NATO territory?
