I was about 15 when this aired. One of the things I appreciate most about watching these clips is it reminds me of my dad, sitting in his recliner in his boxers with his alka-seltzer fizzing beside him, laughing at all these guys from his generation. I miss my dad, and I miss these times.

I was blessed with a near 60-year career as a studio singer and one of my most favorite gigs was singing backup in an 8-voice group for six years on the Dean Martin TY Show. Dean was the greatest…kind, funny, treated everyone with respect and no star ego ever. I miss you, my favorite boss. Thanks for the memories ❤️❤️❤️

This is a flat-out brilliant performance by a man whose reputation for being drunk was carefully crafted and effortlessly executed. There will never be another like Dean Martin.

I mean seriously, Dean and Bob at the same time, this shit will never, ever be repeated. God I miss those days. this is absolute gold.

Dean said "That's fucking bullshit." I can't tell what Johnny said. Love these guys. When men were men.

I'm 73, and I remember these talented gentlemen when celebrity meant something. Bob, thank you for what you did for us GI's, in too many wars.

Dean in character is one of the best acts ever performed 😊

Bob Hope had the best line of the night: “I’m just waiting for a bus.”

I worked with Dean briefly in 1972. He was charming, considerate, smart and always sober. I'll always remember him fondly.

In the day when entertainers were entertaining. Today, instead of appreciating this genius the pc crowd would be hollering for a boycott because they smoked on air.

“You’re not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on.” - Dean Martin

God the longer it goes on the better it gets. I love it. They aren't promoting anything, they aren't fake interviewing with pre-interview questions, they aren't comedians doing their sets as fake-interviews...they're just shooting the shit, improvising, making it up, hilarious, awkward, weird, fantastic conversation. And Dean is definitely not "fake-drunk" here...he's always in control, even when drunk. He's unbelievable. What a gem.

Can never get tired of Dino! What an underrated entertainer! My favourite Dean story is where he would throw a party at his house...go to bed, while the party was still happening...pretend to be a neighbour and call the police about the noise. God Bless Dean Martin!
  • I'm a 65 year old man. I remember this episode. I am a great Dean Martin fan. I give thanks for youtube in that it allows me to see again a kind of comedy long gone glimmering.

That is one smooth 70’s outfit Dean is wearing
