What do you guys think of the bind? Should all leagues allow it or ban it?
  • @PeeHooo
Should be banned completely. Though I would like to change in game mechanics to make it a lot consistent without scripts. People who put time and effort to learn that should be rewarded.
  • @Carftymk
allow ofc. jumpthrows are inconsistant as fuck without the bind and i wouldn't even dare using a jumpthrow without it. if i had to play in a league that doesn't allow it, i'd find a way to counter it and to cheat about this. banning it is stupid as fuck imo.

It's amazing to see all the people in the comments that are saying stuff like, "Players need to learn how to throw smokes consistently," or my personal favorite, "All these shitters saying allow it so they don't have to learn another thing lol". I'm not sure if they've never been in a team where complex executes were run or if they've just never tried to throw these difficult smokes without a bind, but they can't seem to grasp how touchy it is. A jump is 55 units high when you crouch, less when you don't (idk the exact number for not crouching, got the other from kz maps). The difference between your smoke landing and not landing, potentially costing you the round, is literally a couple units off of your intended timing. Then, when you take into account ping or tickrate (not really a problem at the pro level but at the lower levels most definitely), you get an inconsistent mess that disallows some creative and complex executes and pushes the game further towards a more loose, "play for picks and make plays" sort of meta. Throwing the smokes shouldn't be the impressive thing, coordinated teamwork and complicated executes being drafted and executed perfectly should. Also, everyone can use the jumpthrow bind and at the highest level few to no people don't know about it. It's just a case, then, of doing your homework and learning the smokes that will be useful for you (basically it would destroy most of the NA scene)

Allow. Consistency in jump-thrown smokes provided by a jumpbind helps reduce boundaries to creativity in strats. This allows for more skill based gameplay for both players and viewers to enjoy.
  • @jemaCS
In my opinion it should be allowed, jump throws are just so god damn inconsistant without it.

Why are you not making more of these discussion videos? I really enjoy them. ;)

I agree consistency is needed between all leagues. I would allow it because it just changes so much for what you can do and really gives the T's or mostly the T's so many more options and makes for better CS IMO.

Hey Adren. As of last week I lost 200 frames in cs and I play stretch 1280x960. Now I saw in the top left it looked like you were getting 120 and 130 frames as a low. is this a problem since you have a 144hz monitor or?

Anyone who says that banning it would raise the skill ceiling has no idea what they're talking about. Do you ever see EU pros attempting a jump smoke in any matches? No, because without a jump bind it's completely inconsistent and there's no point.

I've been watching you since 2014 watching ur sick tutorial'sI would wanna see you do sum match-making tbhLuv ur work :^)

Anders I think recently had a good idea somewhere about smokes. They should make a 3 phase jump(up, top, down) and each nade thrown in a phase, no matter if its like 1ms after jumping, or few ms, if it's still within the time period for 'up', it would give the same result, same with others. It would make jump throwing much easier, consistent but still leave availability for certain throws and eliminate the need for scripts.
  • @Mta92193
I think it should be allowed with the way CS is right now. However if valve were to implement a new mechanic for jumping and throwing, like what Anders was thinking in that "what would you change in csgo" video, where there are ranges as you jump that the throw will be the same (like say a jump is 300 units, all throws in the first 100 units have the same trajectory and then the next 100-200 would be consistent yet different from the first 100). As it is right now the throw is dependent on your absolute velocity which provides essentially infinity possible trajectories. This would allow for jump throws to be more consistent and allow for a higher skill ceiling, at least compared to a jump throw bind.
  • @Law0fRevenge
Would have been cool if you explained exactly WHY you are on the side of banning it.
  • @squeaky_boots
I'm on the side of allowing it. Also, you DON'T need the bind to throw consistent jump throws. You bind the "let go" and "jump" to separate keys right next to each other rather than using your mouse to let go and space/scroll or whatever else to jump. If you really suck horribly at timing the press of two keys at once then you can literally glue/melt/whatever the key caps for the two keys together. It's particularly easy if you use a mechanical keyboard.
  • @hawklol1809
Should be allowed everywhere. I use to jump throw the traditional way until I sometimes threw slightly late. If they are going to ban this, might as well ban scroll wheel for jumping. Similar thing, making it easier to land multiple jumps than timing it like a normal jump throw.
  • @ema1334
i saw the whole video waiting to hear a reason to ban it :/ whats the problem with the jumpthrow?
  • @solid2q784
Where do you line up the smoke on the carpet for this smoke anyway?
  • @seyyjJ
Allow. Maybe even add it as a feature and bind it to mouse3 or something like that.
  • @Mursert
NaToSaphix has the bind where he has he space for jump and v for throw so could that be allowed if the league does not allowe it? :D
