Can't believe I never knew about this. Such a simple technique hidden in plain sight. I finally know how the movement gods make some of these unthinkable, impossible jumps now.
  • I played this game for 4000hours and I never heard of this skill

I know nobody cares but i was looking for ur video on wallstrafing like 3 days ago and u didn't have one, now you do and I'm happy :)

Parkour gauntlet maps are neat, the training mission built into csgo is kinda like one. I like the concept of wall strafing in tight areas to gain speed.
  • @XnonXte
wallstrafing and speed wallstrafing is the most used movement mechanics in Portal 2 speedrunning

This goes all the way back to the quake engine from 1996 ^^ goldsource was a modified version of the quake engine and so its source I remeber that you could run super fast in cod4 if u looked halfway into the wall and sprint which is also based on the quake engine :D

Thanks for the tutorial, appreciate you from brazil!

great video its nice that more people learn about some of the hidden kz techniques that are not very known been using this on a lot of maps in kz and its very useful espically with prestrafe you can jump as far as 275 units and nopre-strafe 254 is the furthest jumped on 128 tick i believe i dont play kz anymore im retired but i used to have a decent amount of world records in it
  • this reminds me an old technique in cs source which allow you to run faster than 250 unit per second (in case some1 wondering here the tech: you have a flat wall next to you aim away from the wall about 30 degree then run along it. When running repeatedly tap the directional key to strafe into the wall. Ultimately, even without wall, you can even go faster if you can tap both left and right strafe key in continuous motion, providing you still has your crosshair 30 degrees away from the direction you want to go). But i find this tech has less application other than for rotation and get to choke point faster. Ps this trick definitely help folks who still play cs source zombie escape mode

There is a cool pixel surf in sniper nest on de_mirage that requires a wall strafe to hit. I think you should definitely put it into your map, since it is totally related to wall strafing & one of the coolest pixel surfs in the game.
  • Years and years of playing csgo and other source game, I thought I mastered every movement tech in the source engine. Turns out I was wrong, the only other game that even comes close to csgo's complex tech mechanics is probably apex legends, and that games is source engine. I don't hate valorant, but it just doesn't get as deep.

  • I rate you guys go watch a guy named redmoon who actually does vanilla movement and he explains everything in depth
