What’s poppin, you damn dirty apes? It’s me MT and welcome back to the HS spoilers show! With Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes coming out, we thought now was a perfect time to revisit the recent Planet of the Apes trilogy: one of the greatest trilogies that have ever been made in recent memory in my opinion. So let’s stop monkeyin about and

And this movie starts much like it ends…with a gang of chimps running free in the forest where they belong. Unfortunately for these chimpanzees, the original Planet of the Apes did in its first act, Rise of the Planet of the Apes starts with a great hunt. But instead of apes hunting man like we saw in 1968, we get man hunting down chimpanzees…with all the apes we see in this opening sequence actually being totally completely computer generated. I remember watching this movie in theaters when it first came out and being completely blown away by how damn realistic they made these chimps out to be. I mean…now that we’re in the 2020’s over a decade later, we’ve seen our fair share of animals being recreated with computer graphics in outstanding detail…with Rocket Raccoon of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy being the most popular example…so due to the natural passage of time, the VFX in this movie can be somewhat noticeable these days.

FINALLY! I've been talking about the Lost in space Easter egg for a decade and everyone looks at me like I'm crazy... My own personal Mandela effect
  • @Karlach_
This is the most underrated trilogy of the last 10-15 years. I don't see nearly enough people talking about Rise, Dawn, and War.
  • @jimmyolsenblues
my dad and i watched the original planet of the apes many times, he died in 1987. this movie makes me miss my dad so much. thank you for reviewing.
  • @ianlagunas8208
When Cesar yells no for the first time it always gave me goosebumps. Even left Buck shook, definitely top 3 moments of the whole trilogy for me.
  • @HogansHuskies
This is the first time I’ve EVER heard a YouTuber tell their audience to keep their money if things are financially tight, and then thanked them just for watching. Very refreshing and admirable. Much respect! I subscribed just for that reason lol but your videos are also good so nice work man - keep it up! ❤🐕🐕
  • @mrpenguin0001
I recently watched all these movies in order to refresh them in my mind for the new one 😂😂😂😅
  • @lpeterson2336
21:28 that is me in the car on the bridge! The set was built on the ground in a vacant lot. They did such a good job.
  • @user-kv1cq9ev5j
Plot twist:These reboots are prequels tie-in to the original planet of the apes movie and beneath, and the Sequels to the og series such as escape,Conquest and battle are a branch reality from when Cornelius and zira time traveled back
  • @woodandwheelz
I have honestly enjoyed ALL of the Planet of the Apes movies. I just look at them as new movies and not trying to repeat the originals. The story lines are different with nods to the past.
  • @keslippert946
One thing you forgot to mention! In the third film, "Escape from the Planet of the Apes", Cornelius explains the Apes' original rise to power by mentioning the plague that fell upon dogs and cats (simian flu in the new films). He also explains that Aldo was the first ape to refuse a human order by articulating the word "no" just as Caesar does in the film.
  • @somarriba333
This is an AMAZING trilogy. I do think that this movie should be the one called "Dawn" and the second one should be "Rise".
  • @doomoil7338
Honestly every single planet of the apes is gold
  • @bizzybrown5701
The Smashing Pumpkins thing KILLLLED ME bro. It was too meta .
  • @sebswede9005
Rise of the Planet of the Apes is the most underrated in the series. ROTPOTA walked so Dawn, War, and Kingdom could run.
  • @Domzdream
I actually coincidentally recently re-watched all of them. I mean, they're ALL good. So well filmed!
  • @DocHayes420
I really enjoyed this series, can't wait for the new one!
  • @daysj1
This first movie in the trilogy is my favorite.. James Franco aced the role and serkis great as always
  • @Millencyne800
I’m such a fan of the classic movies but these movies are SOOO good, they serve the OG series!!!!
