According to Isabel the FOI shows, over a twelve month period, translation services for courts and tribunal services for oversea individuals who can't speak English cost £24m.
Phone translations for probation services cost nearly £181,000 and face to face translation for probation services cost nearly £623,000.

I live in Spain. My Spanish is fine to 'get by' but anything official, legal, hospital appointments etc we use a translator. If you live in Spain and cannot speak Spanish it is YOUR responsibility to organise and pay for a translator. I don't understand why, in Britain, this is the taxpayers' responsibility.
