Just in case no one else wrote this, the reason that the upwards limit is one block less than the downwards limit is because Steve's coordinates are mesured from the feet

Many people stated that if steve is so strong then why can’t he one shot the ender dragon or the warden and the answer is very simple. Steve is so strong that at maximum power he can rip the whole universe and his fingers. For that reason he must hold back and that is why the swords do more damage because a diamond sword is more durable than a wooden sword so it can handle more of steve’s strength without breaking and that’s why diamond swords do more damage.
