In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Steve is one of the most complex character with some of the most complicated systems ever put into a fighting game. Today, we pick our way through the cobblestone to get to the bedrock of his moves. Does pressure make a Diamond? Or will it... uh... fall apart like... gravel....?

  • @TheHolyTreeMan.
Steve’s sleeping animation implies that he goes to sleep of his own free will just to play along, and that’s terrifying
  • @DarkRen08-
so you know, t-bagging in minecraft is the polar oposite of what happens in most fps as its used to symbolize that you are friendly in minecraft than anything
  • @yufaelia
For some reason my favorite thing about Steve is how he admires the tool he just crafted for a second before continuing to kick your ass
  • @gamesux420
I cant put into words how incredible the crouch spamming is. They put a move in this game, that was created by the players, rather than the MC devs. Yeah sure they put crouching into the game, but they didnt directly tell the players "hey, spam this to say hi or bye to other players". I dont think anyone else in smash has something like that.

"Part one: The moves." "Part two: A Move." i love this fucking show
  • @danieljames1868
"HOW IS THAT WOOL?" In builds, wool is used fairly often in place of clouds due to being the best option available to fill the role.
  • It’s important to also remember that every single stage had to be slightly adjusted to accomodate for Steve’s block placement ability, and future DLC stages had to be built with this move in mind. Sakurai, you madman, have a nap.
  • @SnaksiXD
Imagine if there was a stage in Smash that had a lot of resemblance with Nether. Jigglypuff could make Steve fall asleep and the moment he right-clicks his bed, both die a horrible death.
  • @s1nner_
If everybody starts playing Steve, every Smash game would look like a game of Sky/Bedwars
  • I have to confess. One of my favorite things was watching popular streamers pick up the game for the first time when the game got popular in the mainstream stream communities. The amount of rage and frustration as they made the most avoidable mistakes, coming from a veteran player, was cathartic. Not because I wanted them to have a bad time, but because I got to witness a rite of passage; the quintessential moments all minecraft players go through learning to play the game. And yeah, I did lol hard, but what are you going to do when a newby cockily mines diamonds with a stone pick while bragging about it?
  • @SirRadington
"why is this guy so bullshit" -every player when they fight steve for the first time
  • @StickMaster500
Not only did Steve break Smash Bros, but he also literally broke Twitter.
  • @relaxalax
Going to preemptively apologize for potential mistakes, there was quite a bit for this one and I'm obviously not the king of Minecraft (yet). I'm starting to see in squares. I tried to make bread yesterday out of 3 pieces of wheat. This is what you guys have been doing for the last 10 years? Don't worry, next time I'm gonna be angry about an orange robot! - Somewhere in there i mislabeled Stone as Iron. MY BAD MINERAL FANS!!!!
  • @krispy1641
Steve is so complex, that only the really skilled people can play him. When you see a steve, theres a 50/50 chance that its either who is trash with him or someone who will completely obliterate you and reduce your gaming career to atoms.
  • @systemreb00ted
The "Tea Bag" taunt is actually a reference to a way how players communicate a truce, either that or it is just a tea bag lol.
  • As a Minecraft player, the thing that makes me love him so much is that he not only represents the game, he represents the community. They could have used the emotes that were recently added to Bedrock edition as a money grab for his taunts, but they didn't. They based his taunts off of gestures that players do. Hell, even his final smash is based off of the griefing and trick rooms that many players use.
  • @darienb1127
I know that everyone makes fun of Steve saying he a shitpost, but i'm glad he's here. Like it or not, Minecraft is one of the faces of gaming now. It's a game that started so small and became something so huge. And with Steve, they did so much with so little animation. And isn't that the spirit of Minecraft? being creative with what you got?
  • @BlueAmpharos
4:21 I hear lava bubbling around you, could have easily ended in you dropping into it. You got lucky. There's a phrase popular in Minecraft, "Never dig straight down". You dug striaght down without falling into lava or a large pit or ravine. I don't recommend doing this too often. Digging in a staircase pattern is safer and leaves you with a way to get back up.
  • @iluvchess14736
"Lets try to repair this sword" (Murders Pyra) "See shes hopeless" Why is that the funniest thing I've seen
