“Comedy, this job on its best day, can sometimes be alchemy.” Comedian & actor Vir Das discusses the journey he’s been on over the last few years, from facing strong backlash over his poem “I Come From Two Indias,” to winning an International Emmy for his Netflix special about the aftermath of that controversy, “Vir Das: Landing.” Plus, he gives Kal Penn credit for influencing him to attend college in America and shares why it’s important to be “authentically Indian” on his 33-country Mind Fool stand-up tour. #DailyShow #VirDas #KalPenn

"Love is never yelled. It's not a loud proclamation, it's a quiet demonstration."- vir das. You deserve that award my man.

Vir Das slayed that New Yorker joke. This crowd is trash lately.

“Go on Oprah but then you lose your body guards …” 😂😂😂 “Do you know how badly you have to F up before the British say that YOU divided India?” 🤣🤣🤣 I’m dying.

Did this get unlisted because of the joke about Hasan?! It was so smooth and nobody laughed... I love both of these dudes, more people should see this!

This was such an honest and respectful interview where both parties admire each others work, and rightly so. As an Indian, it gives me immense joy to see Vir Das succeed and I agree with everything he said here. It is because of people like Kal Penn that we can even think of coming to the US and making our mark globally. I love the immigrant show concept with Andy, can’t wait to watch it!! I’ve always seen shows where we see Indian representation as American born Indians but never how we come here when we’re adults and try to make a life. Wooh! So excited!!

Props dude. You slayed me with how bad you have to duck up for Britain to say You divided India… mad mad props for you.

An Emmy? Man. Well-deserved. I’ve watched his comedy. It’s okay. But his body of work and raw talent are high level. There’s something beyond what he’s doing that can unravel his potential, I just don’t know what it is.
  • This will sound like it’s coming out of my rear, but I think Vir should be the next Daily Show host and here is why: I saw him live recently at a small club and having gone to stand-up shows for years for many comics, this was easily one of (if not) the most memorable one. All I could think of was “I just witnessed a master at work.” It was literally a privilege and an experience I am taking to my grave. It was so intelligent, hilarious, so artfully delivered. And so he fits the Daily Show position perfectly.
