Hey y’all! Thanks for watching! For clarification, this is a video about a neat little interaction that’s possible using some geometry in the game. Not every modern game can be broken like this, so I find it very interesting. Not meant to be taken as a serious warning that this is something you should be worried about while you’re playing. Also, I’m fully aware that cheats exist, but thank you for the advice lmao.

level 6 and 757:54:58 is some solid dedication

This is like the Elden Ring equivalent of that "How to break your own thumb ligament" picture. You'd never ever do this accidentally, only after someone shows you specifically how to do it, and you'd only do it if you were an absolute moron.
  • @anoukk_
you just gave me a red button and told me not to press it
  • The bucket can do what multiple gods cannot: prevent the Tarnished from becoming Elden Lord.

Soft lock is when you are unable to progress due to a developer oversight or bug. Getting trapped in a bucket is a soft lock. Hard lock is when the game literally just crashes at a critical point and is incompletable as a result.

I have a sword with bloody slash on it literally because this video made me scared of finding buckets in the DLC

Buckets are godly items. In Skyrim they allow you to fly, in Elden Ring they can outright delete you
  • @Delmworks
Naw, this is just lore accurate. Man jumped into a jar and became a jar warrior

My understanding of soft lock vs hard lock, is that a soft lock makes it so you can no longer progress in a game file (like these bucket traps), while a hard lock just stops the game from running, and requires you to do a full reset of the game in order to continue playing at all, i.e. if the game just completely freezes and stops responding.

Another way out of a bucket is to get invaded, assuming that the traped debuff doesn't block invasions or taunters toung.
  • @AhBlud
There's a spot in the new Darklight Catacombs where you can get stuck, in the same area there's also a bugged wall where you can fallout the map.
  • Sooooo moral of the story... have atleast one weapon with sepuken on it when exploring the dlc just in case :)
  • @Lunk42
Now I wanna see a perma bucket speedrun category.
  • Thats when you whip out the cheat engine and teleport yourself out of there. Another big reasons games shouldn't bother with invasive anti-cheat

One of my favorite buckets used to be the Coliseum statue in roundtable hold. On release you could jump behind it but they already patched it

I find it interesting that the inputs for doing the ladder warp(release sprint and block at the same time) are the exact same as what's used for the "perfect block" technique used mostly in pvp.
