Saving the capital city of Lisbon for another episode, we'll dance on the beach at Nazaré, marvel at a medieval abbey in Batalha, visit a royal library and revel with university students in Coimbra, savor port wine with the people who made it along the Douro River, and get to know Portugal's gritty and fascinating second city, Porto. Visited Portugal for two weeks in 2015 with my wife and two daughters (teens at the time). We visited Lisbon, Obidos, Faro, Evora, Tomar, Coimbra, Porto, Braga, Figueira da Foz, and Sintra before heading back to Canada. It was a busy two weeks, but we loved every minute of it. Best vacation we've ever had. We still talk about it on a regular basis and can't wait to go back again (for a much longer period of time). Cheers Portugal!

My grandparents were from Portugal. If you can't get there, the next best thing is to have Rick Steves bring Portugal to you. It's really awesome to see my family heritage. ♥️
