It does, in a way, feel like Todd would rather sit on the IP than let another studio have a crack at it. I do wonder how long Microsoft will put up with Fallout going another 10-15 years before a new title is out. I don't know.
  • The best thing about that jacket is it helps you see 16x the detail...!

The crazy thing about the insane gaps between games is that people AGE. When you're talking about 16 years between ES5 and ES6, and probably also about 16 years between FO4 and FO5, think about the demographics. People who were huge fans of the series are now, what, TWICE as old? They have kids, and careers, and gray hair and very little time to spend on "inch deep mile wide" games. I agree with Todd that it's ok to miss things, but when you wait that long you have to rebuild your fanbase from scratch with every release. When ES6 releases, high schoolers will consider Skyrim to be an ancient game from before they were born, and same for FO5.

Fallout London is such a treat. BGS could never do that lol

I’ve said this for awhile, but Bethesda seems to purposefully starve their community of content before they release a game, so even when the game they release is literal slop, the community is so starved they’ll take literally anything they can get
  • "If you love what you do, everything will fall into place." That's a huge fallacy. You've got to factor in all the passion projects that don't get across the finish line, or are left out to dry.

It really is embarrassing that it will have been nearly 20 years between Fallout 4 and 5.

Todd’s “merry band of devs” just formed a union so they couldn’t be that merry.

bethesda, as a company, is that kid in school who was at one point the smartest kid in his grade. however, that kid refused any help (looking at critisms) due to arrogance, and now all the other kids who did ask for help are excelling in class, while bethesda is struggling to be in the top 50% of it's grade.

20+ years between Fallout games is just absurd. But then again BGS keeps streamlining and watering down their games release after release, so my excitement for anything BGS related is pretty much gone. What hope is there for this franchise anymore, when the company owning the IP is on downfall. And they're too stubborn to lend it to other studios who would have more passion for it.

All I learned is that guy loves New Vegas, From Soft, and Smiling Friends
  • I love F3-F4 but I can still acknowledge that they got out performed by modders with London

i'll always stand by my opinion that todd howard is the greatest snake oil salesman that has ever lived

I would say Indigo Gaming's newest video would be worth a watch; it talked about Interplay and what happened to Fallout before, during, and after the acquisition from Bethesda.

If I’m Microsoft I do what I have to do to have a Fallout 3 or New Vegas remake ready to go by season 2 of the show.
