Disabled People Don't Owe Anyone Awareness

Published 2024-06-25
Just because our disability may be visible, it doesn't mean that we owe strangers our medical information. We don't exist to educate and it can be triggering to have our day interrupted by a nosey stranger who doesn't even know our name but expects us to share our personal medical details with them.

There's a wealth of information online and numerous creators who share our experiences in a way we're comfortable with. There's no need to ask a stranger to share potentially traumatic information.
