Old guy here ,in around 1970 the brothers showed up in my home town to do a gig at the county fair ,they stayed at a friend's neighbors house and did a jam in their back yard ,it turned me on to blues at a early age because you could here the soul in Gregg's voice like in church here in the south . Thanks for diving into this powerfully soulful group.

One thing about AirplayBeats, ya'll ain't no shuckers and jivers. Ya'll da real deal. Always good to hear musicians take on bands.
  • On my personal list of 100 top RnR songs of all time. Greg was just a kid singing this.
  • @monticella
They're gone now, but the music remains. Pretty solemn and I feel old and alone.

In 1974 I went to my first Allman brothers concert at Roosevelt stadium in Jersey city an old baseball stadium that’s been gone for years. Went in a hippie van from NY with my older brother and my mom yelling out the front door you can’t take him he’s too young! lol This song was being introduced by Greg Allman as a Swedish wedding song lol as we were walking in. Unbelievable like it was yesterday!❤
  • Greg had a perfect voice for the blues. Great reaction. I’m glade you watched both. There each good for different reasons.

Stormy Monday from the Fillmore East Album is a must ….church blues at its best Merry Christmas guy’s 🎄🎅✌️
  • @mrnobody9104
Allman's all day give it a try, been doing it for a long time and no sign of that changing! Merry Christmas guys
  • This is in my top 5 all time tunes to go along with The WHO’s ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again,CHiCAGO’S ‘25 or 6 to 4 or ‘ Beginnings’. Also Elton John’s ‘Levon’.Lastly the song Aja by Steely Dan is so amazing. Try Blue Sky by The Allman Bros.

My opinion is that you should always listen to the studio version first, then the live version, for any group.

Vinyl: Troll around Craigslist and FB marketplace for long enough and you'll get all the LP's you can carry for pretty cheap. I have 500 or 600 - 400 of them were given to me just for being at the right place at the right time, but I bought the rest for $5. People just want their storage space back lol
  • You should listen to the full album, Live at Fillmore East, which is consider one if not the best live album ever recorded. I was so lucky that I grew in the seventies. I saw them in concert four times and they still remain my favorite out of all the concerts I went to.
  • One thing about the Allman Bros. is that they often play dual synchronized lead guitars! You can hear it better in some song more than others, but listen for it!
  • You guys are killin it today!! Check out the live acoustic cut of the song "Melissa" It's a must see!!
  • I got the munchies just hearing that again! Recommend the “Eat a Peach” album

Just found your channel & really enjoying these reactions. And yeah, this song hits hard.
  • One of the best band of musicians put together. The sum was sooo much greater than the individual parts., and the parts were prime believe me. Put them all together and they blew the roof off every place they played. Deep Purple Pt I not withstanding.

If you haven't reacted to it yet you should give the Allman Brothers version of Stormy Monday from the Live at Fillmore East album. It is probably my favorite version of this old T-Bone Walker tune.
  • Great job guys. I love the live, but like you, I love the studio production!!!!!!
