I lived in Nashville in the mid 90s. Every saturday I would go to Opryland and watch Mike and a few other world class players just tear it up. It was awesome.

I have know Mike since we were 17...This is NO ACT..This is the way he talks...and is and incredible banjo player, guitar player, mandolin and harmonica player..He is a NATURAL Showman..

I wrote a song back in January and I was able to find his phone number and called him. He did not answer, but his answering machine picked up, so I left a message, low and behold within an hour Mike Snider HIMSELF returned my call. He was very, . There was not much he could help me with, as far as getting some one to listen to my song, but I sent him a copy of it and he said if the occasion presented itself he would pass it on. What a guy! and a great entertainer!

@SteveGaines You are lucky, Mike is the best clawhammer player in Tennessee, period. He knows of more old-time tunes than anybody else I know of, and one of my favorites he performs live is "Angeline The Baker", and "Old Molly Hare". True gentleman and heck of a performer.

Good friend of mine. Been with him to some of the shows he was on. Got a video with him and I flying in to his grass strip first time. Maybe I will post it sometime.
