Not a fan of this debate format? The National sat down with the four main party leaders individually in their Face to Face series last week. You can watch the videos here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvntPLkd9IMeMFvr93nunecusrsn8ZFFz ^akd
  • "Good evening, Leaders... sorry" Wow. 4 words into the first audience question and we already have a "sorry". Well done Canada

SUGGESTIONS: 1) Mute the mics except for the person speaking and have a timer. 2) Interruptions are timed, and the person interrupting will lose speaking time and grant that extra time to the person being interrupted. 3) Create penalties for NOT answering questions, or personal attacks. Give them fair warning, but if they persist, there should be a time penalty. 4) Get moderators that can actually moderate.

“Please explain a solution to all of the world’s problems. You have 30 seconds. Go.” 🤦‍♂️
  • This is how many times Scheer roasted Trudeau instead of answering the questions. 👇🏼
  • @dinastyx7414
They don't even talk in turns. It's not even about who's point is better. It's just who screams louder. Edit: Glad so many of you agree!
  • @stardust2287
Anyone: Says something Everyone else: I’m gonna pretend I didn’t hear that and talk about something else
  • @Jujubes666
I was NOT expecting Sheer’s first answer completely BASHING Trudeau rather than answering the question.
  • @andyzhang7890
Moderator: Poses essay-level question Candidate: well I- Moderator: Thank you, your time is up
  • @freecitizen2760
If Trudeau doesn’t say “ah” between every two words, it’s rehearsed.
  • @doggoslayer5679
Every party in the debate summed up: Conservative: mR tRuDeAU Liberal: I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING BAD I SWEAR?!?! PPC: yo man let’s get these immigrants out BQ: this. . . Is. . . What. . . I. . . Think NDP: Damn rich people causing our problems Green: aLl hAnDs On DeCk GuYs
  • @heeeydevon8262
Does Andrew Scheer have any other responses besides "but Justin Trudeau..."
  • @SS-is7rc
Question: what will you do as prime minister to help with the climate crisis? Andrew Scheer: Mr. Trudeau has been lying to Canadians for years and it’s time for a change.
  • Mute out each other until it's your turn to talk, my kindergarten child plays nicer.
  • atrocious format. each leader should have at least 10 minutes at the beginning to explain their platform in their own words, then begin the debate. half these leaders aren't even educated on their opponent's platforms, god knows how many Canadians are uninformed. This debate was a waste of time.
  • @Poppin023
how to waste 10 seconds out of your allowed 45 when answering a question: "first of all, thank you very much for this question"
  • @humanbeing356
Nobody: Literally nobody: Andrew Sheer: Mr. Trudeau
  • @kerrytoby7041
They should have doubled the time segments at least. They have severely stifled depth of debate.
  • @SabvachiLeng
Whoever set up this debate should be fired. This was horrible.
