Liz needs therapy to find out why she keeps accepting him back. He hasn't changed anything about himself to show Liz he's changed. He isn't good looking. He's not wealthy, he's not funny and he's rude.and verbally abusive. Bringing her daughter into this toxic mess was a bad move. Someone needs to protect Riley from him because Liz doesn't have enough sense to keep Riley from his psychological abuse so someone else should.

I hope Ed finds someone who is EXACTLY like him...

I think this was the worst thing he ever did to Liz. He made her give up her work offer, move to Arkansas where she had no support and relied entirely on him and his family and then pulled the carpet out from under her. He's a controlling prick. I mean I'm glad they're broken up cuz she really dodged a bullet. And the fact that Ed is now saying he wants a conservative christian woman (read: I want a subservient woman) is scary. I feel for any new woman in his life. I think both of them need individual therapy and work on being your best self and not needing someone else

Honestly I think she fell for the sunk cost fallacy. She believed that she'd put so much time and work into this relationship, that surely the light at the end of the tunnel would arrive. But it never did, and now I just hope she's strong enough to continue that walk through the tunnel alone. And one day she will finally see the light, instead of the oncoming train that is Ed.

It didn't take Liz 3 years to realise, she knew from the start he wasn't treating her right... it took her 3 years to build the self respect to recognise that he won't change, not for her or for true love. Some people genuinely don't want to give up, because giving up means acknowledging that you put time and effort into the wrong thing. And nobody wants to think they've spent 3 years in a loop. Hope makes us hold out another day, just for the faintest possibility that things could be better, that maybe just 1 more day is all it takes for them to see.
