This is ABOBO'S BIG ADVENTURE!

This was a fan game made in 2012 and made entirely in Flash. It's an ultimate love letter to the NES and something that really needs to be experienced without explanation.

Welcome to another episode of "Jared refuses to get a working controller set up."
  • @RinaRetro
That ending makes this game cannon in the Double Dragon / Kunio Kun universe. Abobo is just living his life in his apartment 💙
  • @Acidicstudios
Jared needs to stop using that old madcatz controller

You are a far more patient man than I. The way that controller would be imbedded in my walls.
  • I just can't imagine knowing that your analog sticks are causing all these problem, likely by having no central deadzones set, and not just figuring out how to run it with a dpad. Anyway, great series for a great game. Truly one of a kind, and it's a shame that copyright law means it could never reach the heights it deserved.

First 4 comments on this video were bots, so here's a non-bot comment to say I've enjoyed this series a lot.

Every time Jared has full rage and there's a jump coming, you know what's next 🤣
  • It is kind of insane how good this project actually is, thanks for showing it off, glad to see you’re having fun
  • @LanEXHikari
What a throwback on how hectic that era was, classic NG. Thanks Jerd ✌🏼
  • @ZenoDLC
The controller input screen shows how bad the input is on your controller, might be why it's so "sensitive" with the falling and rage releases

This game is just as crazy as I remember from '09 or whenever it came out. Huge labor of love like they said. This was one of the most talked about projects on Newgrounds for years.

It's amazing how much content there is on this game for being a flash game. Amazing!
  • @Dethmobile
Watching Jared fail the Konami code so many times is pissing me off lol
  • @Rellik165
A true internet classic. Glad you enjoyed the whole thing from beginning to end, Jared!
  • I'm kinda sad you only found this now, so you won't have nostalgia for it. I played it when it first came out and it hit me like a truck. It was the best flash game on newgrounds by a mile and the jokes, well, it was the sense of humor of its time, they still hit hard, but not as hard as when it first came out.
  • I remember playing this back in the day, and I recall that final fight being brutal. Amazingly, I forgot everything else about the game, so this was still fun to watch.

I've noticed this. Controllers have NO WHERE near the same accuracy as the old NES and SNES controllers. In fact, I don't think they have the same accuracy as PS1 or PS2 either. I've been going back to older games on newer hardware and it's just infuriating. Companies. Knock off the shoddy controller work. Just because more recent games don't require as much twitch reflexes doesn't give the excuse for shit work on expensive hardware.

I still have the Aboboster in my wallpaper rotation to this day. A wonderful nostalgia trip, both to the NES games of the 80s and early 90s, and to the early 2010s when this got released. A prime example of Newgrounds comedy back in the day.
