Many of you have the dealer installed security system on your cars without knowing it. This system can lock your ignition up if you replace your battery. Here are the simple steps to remove it.

Dave you are the man bro! Thank you. So much for your video. I got my car started because of your video!

My system was a Karr Series 3 system that kept sounding the horn and arming itself. I pulled the alarm box out and disconnected the harness with about 15 wires going to it. I left the harness plug in the box that only had 2 wires. It was the starter interlock plug. Alarm is now disabled and car starts with no loss of any power features. Just no alarm system. The starter wire was an orange thicker gauge wire on my Jeep Liberty that was spliced into a small harness plug. You could just splice the wire back together and do away with the alarm box altogether. My alarm system had several wires piggybacked into the wiring harness. I just left those wires in place with the harness unplugged. No shorts that way.

Sweet! It took me an hour on google to figure what this is, Dealership Karr Alarm & the removal makes sense! Thanks

This dogshit alarm system was installed in my Scion and it keeps giving me problems. The alarm keeps going off randomly, the horn honks 3 times when I turn the car on and the horn no longer honks to confirm the car is locked. What a nightmare.
  • Man...It's as nervewrecking as defusing a bomb. I have to see how it looks on my Camry.

What if it's deactivated? No flashing or nothing. It just sits there. Asking for my 2012 Honda Accord that came with it. Just recently purchased the car. Thanks
  • I really dont understand how this video helps anyone. The alarm in the video was definitely not dealer installed. It was a poorly installed cheapie aftermarket system. No proper installer would use those connector clips because it makes it too easy to bypass.....
