“don’t go cryin’ to your momma, ‘cause you’re on your own in the real world”

As someone who grew up with a really rough childhood when I got out into the “real world” it was the funnest and most free I felt in my life. Not everything is dust and ashes after childhood :) keep your chin up

When my dad was on his way to dropping me off to my first day of middle school and he heard this song, he said "I'm gonna play this song on the day I drop you off to move into college." Well... he played it in the car on the way to drooping me off a week ago and I just balled my eyes out and I still do! I miss my parents :')
  • Shout out too all of the highschool seniors who diddn't get prom or the traditional graduation.
  • Definitly a road trip more than 6hrs with a bunch of your closest friends song for sure!?!?!

Anyone here still jamming to this song and remembering the past, who's here with me still listening to this song till now?
  • i love the fact this song can go both ways..people who had everything handed to them now live in the “real world” and people who had nothing now get to experience having fun in the “real world”

This makes me nervous about going to art school away from home😖 Edit: (7years later) omg forgot about this comment! (I was reminded by someone who just commented and I’ll just edit the comment in case anyone else is curious) I’m not famous or anything, but I do have my artwork hanging in a couple of local businesses and I’ve co-published a school art curriculum. I’m currently working as an artist and graphic designer at a big printing company. I will say I’m so pleased with the trajectory of my career so far! I’m 23 now and I’d encourage anybody to go after their passions and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!❤️💖

Hayley Williams is insanely underrated as a vocalist, her voice is AMAZING!!

This song came out right as I started my first job working night shift at a hospital and feeling the pressure of paying for my own place after getting kicked out, making time for friends and having a relationship. Out of all the things I mentioned I only managed to maintain paying rent. This song really hit me where it counted and comforted me at the same time. Being older I now managed to get my old social life and learned not to let the world get to me. Just take it easy and don’t be hard yourself. The real world is scary but you don’t have to feel alone lads.

That woman can sing the SOUL out of her vocals like a true powerhouse 🎶🎵💪💯

I wanted this to be my high school class song so bad

This song hits differently when you’re 21
  • I just moved into a new apartment and just stumbled upon this song while cleaning my apartment. I love Paramore! This is the third time I moved away from my family and my first time on my own. This song made my chest feel so heavy, I was trying to hold back my tears.
