With over 3 million followers, Lydia Millen has been blogging for over a decade.

She very rarely does interviews, so I wanted to sit down with Lydia to get some insight into the woman behind the handle and dig into her life, her career & the criticism she's faced. She really opens up.

Lydia's book Evergreen was published in October by Orion.

Thank you for watching!

She says a lot without actually saying anything - we haven’t really learnt anything new she didn’t address anything
  • @lindaw.5836
This is very strange. This really is not how Lydia usually talks. She sounds very contrived and unnatural here. Sounds like she's reading it all out. Bit like her 'Evergreen' book.
  • @sunnykaur2193
She’s answering everything like she’s Rishi Sunak!
  • @ClaudiaArnold29
I feel like we literally didn’t learn anything new about her???

I eagerly anticipated this podcast episode, hoping to bridge the gap and understand Lydia better through context. Regrettably, the interview lacked depth, offering no substantial information or exploration of topics. The episode left me disappointed as it only hinted at things without delving into specifics or naming them by name

i dont have problem with change, I have a problem with lack of authenticity. She is just not sincere.
  • @sikhan9394
Lydia gave a whole lot of nothing 😅
  • @rotimi16
Sorry this was boring, very contrived, not much knowledge shared and talking like it’s ground breaking stuff, yet it’s hardly interesting. Totally felt like she was trying to control her image. Yet it had no substance or wisdom
  • @Bell-mw4lc
This honestly felt very boring and like she didn’t actually share anything authentic?
  • @kjherrick91
Went into this very open minded, I'd watched some of her videos a really long time ago but she was never a Vlogger I subscribed to. I was therefore unaware of all the drama surrounding her...but to be honest i'm 20min in and bored. She doesn't come across as someone who is actually opening up. It feels inauthentic and spoken through brand image rather than an actual human with a life that's shaped her. Grace asks questions that would allow her to open up and create a connection but the response always feels very surface. As someone said in the comments she would make a good politician or crisis PR person...spinning any question as a chance to present what she wants to be true and rarely what actually is.

She comes from humble beginnings and is now living a comfortable life..She's worked hard and deserves all her success and the hate comes from jealousy and her old fans not evolving with her. That's a sign of their own insecurities. I really enjoy her content and her bougie environment is great escapism. I wish her continued success.Hugs from Australia.
  • The way she avoids eye contact when answering certain questions (ie the more probing ones) but is able to have eye contact when answering easy questions (talking about her routine was a prime example) - (BUT actually note how eye contact dropped when she was making up a schedule….🤔) leads me to agree with those saying she’s not very genuine and her answers seem really cotrived and surface both in style and substance
  • @oliviasloan7538
I have mixed opinions on her I use to love her but gone off her in recent years and I know that's the same for a lot of people I have no hate for her as I still lover her style ect but I think She needs to be interviewed by piers Morgan so we can get some raw & brutal questions and answers! this is a very glossed over interview almost like she knew the questions before hand so she could construct the perfect answer!
  • @Skats7x3
Grace looks soooo disinterested when she’s talking lol
  • @perveenasjad6794
It's all about how genuine you are. Sometimes, Lydia just waffles in order to create a video as long as possible. Therefore, more money. It feels like an act.

Lydia was my favorite YouTuber for many years, I’m guilty of being one of the people who fell off once she moved into her new house. I found the content became less relatable, I couldn’t connect with the super fancy way of dressing or gardening as those aren’t parts of my life. Maybe one day I’ll reconnect with Lydia content, this interview was lovely.
  • @Nickysmom
I have watched her periodically for about 4 years. She is very pretty and it is fun to watch someone that attractive. But what she reveals does seem staged and nor genuine. Even the dogs, cat, chickens, the riding come off as props rather than genuine parts of her life. That’s how it SEEMS to me which may or may not be true. Like she can’t forget herself but is always aware of herself. I’d be interested how she thinks of her vlogs. That said, I do enjoy seeing her in small doses.
  • @gbosonnet
She is well spoken and beautiful and i think her own genuine personal style is lovely. However, I think she is really missing the mark as to why she was not received as well by her audience around the time she moved to her country house. It was the characature like persona she adopted when she moved i.e "boot room and harvesting herbs." Whilst rebranding cheep rubbish from Ali express and selling it at a premium price whilst they spend the proceeds on designer gear. People are generally happy to see people succeed and I was happy for Lydia's success but I unsubscribed as I no longer found her sincere.
  • I found this to be a really boring podcast and learnt nothing new about Lydia. The interview lacked substance and Lydia provided politician style answers to the questions. I can see why she doesn't do interviews very often...

Hardly been on the receiving end of ‘cancel culture’ When you’re continuing to make money off of influencing, receiving paid opportunities and gifts. Think maybe the word is being held to account lol?
