Today my team and I attempt to complete the Garden of Salvation raid and acquire the Divinity trace rifle, however the majority of us have never done this raid before... It turns out some of us can't grasp simple concepts and even Bungie decided to interrupt this one. Join us as we accidentally create the Garden of Griddy.

How NOT to Beat Garden of Salvation

Don’t worry this video has nothing to do with the recent divinity drama it’s just really funny timing. Though if you wanna know my thoughts on that, I’ll touch on it at the end. Regardless today my friends and I set out to complete garden of salvation and acquire divinity. However the majority of us have never actually completed it before. Now garden of salvation has a pretty bad reputation so I’d be curious to hear what you guys think of it, is it as bad as people say it is, or do you like it? Without further adue here is the garden of griddy, and man this one’s a trip.

Intro

So getting ready, we didn’t really know what to expect, like I said in the intro, I know a lot of people don’t like this raid so I was curious to see what our run would look like.

The first encounter introduces us to the Consecrated Mind, which no lie, looks really cool. This also introduces us to the infamous tether mechanic.
First encounter down let’s not forget about the divinity boxes. If you don’t know, in order to get divinity you must complete a series of tether puzzles within the raid, similar to solo dungeons this must be done in one sitting, doing this will award you with divinity upon completion.

Moving on to the 2nd encounter we were actually making pretty good time so far.

We started realizing that quicksilver storm is, really good and, apparently so did bungie.

On to the third encounter the consecrated mind. I actually remembered this encounter and was really looking forward to it.
To all of our surprise, Destiny servers had scheduled maintenance, this late into the raid. Which means that we would have to do the whole raid over again, puzzles and all.

For now, we figured we’d roll the dice and press on regardless even if just for the familiarity.

Though we knew it was coming, this still hurt. We waited for the servers to come back, and started the whole raid over again, don’t worry, I’m not gonna make you sit through all of that.

Okay back on track with only a couple more div puzzles and one more encounter to go, but little did we know the utter chaos that awaited us on this last puzzle.

With the final div puzzle done this left us with only the sanctified mind standing between us and our coveted reward, and I wish it was that easy

I love this raid. What I don’t love is people leaving at the final boss after we wipe once 🙃

I played this raid for the first time like 2 seasons ago (took a break during most of shadowkeep) and it easily has the best aesthetic of any current d2 raid, although dsc comes close in that category. In terms of the encounters, my entire team were going in with 0 clears and we had an absolute blast. Took us about 4.5 hours to clear it for the first time and get divinity, so all around I think we did pretty well.

I almost died of suffocation because of that final puzzle, I couldn't stop laughing. Also, I love the Halo CE edits.
  • Garden is a really good raid but people hate it for 2 main reasons, 1. Half of the raid has gambit mechanics 2. Sanctified mind had a lot of mechanics happening at once and lfg doesn’t like being challenged. But tbh, I feel like garden is a lot more appreciate it now than what it was 1 or 2 years ago

I LOVE garden. I don’t know what’s up with it but I feel like the 2 runs I’ve done I’ve participated in almost every role of both the div puzzles and the encounters. I like the armor from it, at least for hunter, and because the two groups I did it with were chill I got to use pretty much whatever load out I wanted.

This steam was amazing dude literally most fun stream I’ve been in this year

Note for anyone seeing this in the future, if you have to stop playing the raid, you don't actually need to start over completely for divinity You can have someone go in to any checkpoint of the raid and backtrack to the first encounter, then if everyone else joins them, you spawn at first encounter to do puzzles from the start, but don't have to redo any encounter you completed

Garden is an amazing raid, however, it requires every person to do their role well and use their brain which many destiny players cant.

These kinds of raids are why I love doing sherpa runs. Melting through raids with experienced groups is all good and well, but having fun with less familiar players and giving them a long-lasting positive experience never gets old to me.
  • Just found you a bit ago and you are a hidden gem of a content creator. Keep up the great work!
  • @Slug_ssbm
Just ran through Garden for the first time ever earlier for Div/GR 9 today and it was one of the most enjoyable lfg experiences I’ve ever had.
  • After watching 3 full videos then somewhere before the final puzzle in this video, I just love the chemistry between you all! Amazing content and I will be binging your stuff for awhile!

Absolutely love this raid, favorite raid in the game for now, the scenery is beautiful and I love the mechanics and all the speed strats you can do

First raid completion was garden. It is super fun mechanically. The 2nd encounter can get a little stale when you don't have angelics on your point, but I like the consecrated mind fight and the final boss as well. Definitely a good feeling when you get it right and bake the boss when your juggling filling the banks, keeping ads back, and rebuilding the damn arena lol

Ran my first garden last week and I think it's a ton of fun, I actually kinda like how the last boss has everyone participating instead of a couple people just kinda on ad clear. It feels like an encounter that requires everyone to be in sync (which can make it more frustrating when you're not having the best time) but it's so so rewarding when you get it
  • @Sir_Milkman
Btw I love ur content, ironically u guys being okay at the game makes it much funnier as well, its nice to see a different perspective of the game
  • Holds a special place in my heart. First ever raid, beautiful scenery. My clan leader was my Sherpa, was 35 beers deep and it was a blast. Kicked off my deeper love for the game
  • @Tah-.
Garden is my favorite raid; all of my clears except the first one have been div runs and I love it each time
  • @silkky_
How do you only have about 30k subs, your content is easily worthy of hundreds of thousands

I was a Day 1 in Garden and still absolutely adore GoS to this day. Every encounter is unique and gives you lots of options on ways to do them. It’s probably the best challenge vs amount of fun you can have in any D2 raid. Nothing has to be meta every single step of the way and you can teach it so easily to new players. You can also screw around with your friends and it doesn’t feel like anyone is throwing at any point if you do.
