Kevin Estre's driving always looks like he is driving with easy AI difficulty
  • What an absolute unit. Man is making moves irl that most of us would be scared to make in simulators
  • @bman6070
Jimmy's commentary skills are absolutely insane. Seriously makes the racing so easy and engaging to follow. I would love to see him commentate some irl racing.
  • @simsch97
Just a short correction. He made it from P11 to P2 (P3 if you want to be precise) within the two laps. He dropped to P13 before the braking for T1 and after T2 he was P12. The Rowe BMW was P2 until Kévin Estre got him. The leading Mercedes AMG GT3 was able to build a gap before he could get there. Later in the race that AMG crashed so Manthey won the race.
  • grello has got to be one of the best racing liveries in recent times
  • Kevin Estre breaks all the rules of endurance racing, he takes HUGE risks but somehow keeps it on the road. A pleasure to watch! Edit: His first stint at this year's N24 was pretty insane as well
  • @steve45
This years N24 was one of the best races I've watched... I need not take that any further, straight up ever! It almost felt like a 24hr Sprint at times. But that 21 start was epic! These drivers are absolute gladiators! Estre's driving there and in past/present races is so damn inspiring. Hero moves!
  • @marv2507
Saw the thumbnail, immediately knew it would be Estre's start of the 2021 N24h...
  • This doesn’t seem lazy to me, you provide helpful context and explanations to what’s happening. Keep doing what you enjoy, that’s what matters most :)
  • His track knowledge is impressive. It looks like the track is going to disappear several times but he puts his car there and just hangs on. There’s a lot of people who know the Nordschliefe. What the next turn is, where you need to brake, which turns you can carry speed into because the camber helps you; but Estre knows every inch. Crazy

A note on how Estre managed to pass the absolute elite of GT racing as if they were easy AI: he had the right tires on. Before the race started there was a huge uncertainty of how the weather will play out (mind you they have about a 20 minute formation lap) so teams where on all sorts of tires between full slick, cut slick and intermediates. Not to take away from Estre, it was a brilliant drive, and a masterclass in how to make the most of a tire advantage. Thats why it seemed at points that he had so much more grip. It wasn't pure confidence, it was the right choice of tire. Also it was P11 to P2, the yellow mercedes was in P1 (seen in 18:42, that was P1 not traffic)
  • Estré was on "cutted" slicks - basically intermediates - thats why he had so much more grip, then the others ;) still awesome seeing Grello going at it!

I don't know why, but hearing the engine and transmission whine of any GT3 car at full chat is one of the coolest and purest race-car sounds and I LOVE that noise, especially down the long straights. Some amazing driving on show, and as with any top-notch driver; Estre makes its look effortless.
  • @Quazepect
The whine of the straight cut gears in that transmission will always be such a unique sound that feels like a racers heartbeat. What a crazy video and an INSANE drive from Mr. Estre. Keep up the awesome content Jimmy!
  • Jimmy continuing to spout love and appreciation for the 24H of Nurburgring. Such passion!
  • @Hooxter93
Amazing! Jimmy you are an amazing caster: this clip with Estre is a blast of adrenaline and your commentary just adds more hype making everything epic. We want to see more of these!
  • @jacohop
Phenomenal vid man! Your unbridled joy and the way you walk us through key-moments is a pure joy to experience. Plus, that Porsche sound is *chef’s kiss *
  • This is breath-taking driving there. This guy definitely deserves more praise than he has O_O
