(JJK) Sukuna VS Mahoraga (blu ray fight) SOUND REDESIGN

The point of me making this video was to test out a new soundpack I'm using for air movement/wooshes. Which is why it is super bassy especially near the end. The next big sound design I do is not going to be like that, and it is going to be better and will not focus on just testing out one sound pack. 🤓☝

Finally a sound redesign that isn't just incomprehensible distorted sounds

Just some critique. While the sound effects are cool and all, alot of them incorporate the same types of sound (rocks crushing, heavy bass impacts) which ends up cluttering the audio field and making it hard to associate which sound goes with which action or item. Not adding a change in pacing and intensity also contributes to the wall of clutter. You will notice the original has some quiet moments to cut through and let the ears catch up to the action. Still solid effort tho

if david productions did the sounds its pretty awesome, like another commenter said tho, if the dismantle was a lot more thin and high sounding, like a generic katana slice esque sound would be pretty cool

the sound for fuga is just so MEATYY its like a cannon going off all the sounds are amazing— and they really show the impact of all the blows , and the power behind them the section where they were flying and the plane engine ?? it was so good sukuna throwing the pillar was also amazing one nitpick is that the sound for dismantle , in my opinion , should have a thin , high sound along with the impact to show the precise nature of the slice

The scene theyre just staring at eachother flying for a solid 3 seconds just God- And big raga landing beind a tumblin sukuna is god damn wild. The fact he hit sukuna with a punch already cements him wayyyyy higher than someone like jogo. This shit was wild.

HEY IDK IF YOU KNEW THIS BUT in the original storyboard for the episode, it says “please do not add any impact sfx” for the scene where mahoraga suddenly jumpscares sukuna, to make it feel more ghostly. Unfortunately they did end up adding an impact sfx anyways, but it was so alien and bizarre that it fit the moment perfectly and I have no notes. That being said, YOU UNINTENTIONALLY FULFILLED THE STORYBOARD’S EXACT WISHES BY REMOVING THE IMPACT SFX!!! I don’t think you knew about this when you were making this vid, but it’s super cool that you ended up doing it. Amazing vid man.

I felt like some of the punches and warp sounds had a little too much bass but holy shit you’re master at everything like Ufotable level especially with the wind sounds bro

The part where the plane is ripped apart and Mahoraga is tossed out is so beautifully sound re-designed! I loved how the wind rips past our ears as we see Mahoraga whirl out of the debris.
