Automobilista 2 has added the Historic 1971 Nordschleife to its track roster, so what better thing to do but draw comparisons between it and the modern version.

Such a cool detail is how some of the trees are actually in both versions, just smaller in the 1971 version to show how the young trees eventually grew into their modern form.
  • I cannot say how pleased i am to see you in Ams2 Matt Like the old days. Of PC2 Vids ... Your Tutorials still hold up today for new people to my Fav Sim Ams 2
  • Hidden bonus - If you go around the cones where the track loops back on the pit lane you can go for a nice drive in the German countryside.
  • Oh, the Yorkster at what he does best… sharing track insights with his community in a friendly and entertaining way! 🥳💪 thx Yorkie. Cant wait to drive there myself with some historic car. 👋

Super nice video Yorkie! I'm a super fan of Grand Prix Legends and classic racing (sooo charming!), and I always appreciate when developers release content like this.

You know what's missing on the historical track? Those cobblestone sort of extended curbs (kerbs?). Like, they're on the modern track, and I had assumed they were old. Apparently not.
  • A couple of "Easter eggs" on the 71 north track. By "flugplatz " sign. And after Adanau bridge by sign.
  • As a veteran of Grand Prix Legends, I'm delighted to see the old layout of the Norschleife in AMS2. Now if only they would add Dan Gurney's old Eagle F1 car and i'd be in nerd racing heaven!

Nice video Yorkie. Love the new track from Reiza.
  • The backstraight must have been quite a feat levelling that out. The rest of its not that much different apart from a lot more trees in the 21 version!

Hoping someone would do this comparison.

You should've smoked a cigarette while you were driving to make the historic track lap more realistic. 🤭
