They have moved the furniture around. But it’s the same furniture in the same room.

Leave the typo it's driving engagement 😂

Episodes were their chance to make three single substantial mini campaigns that could have a clear beginning middle and end. They instead decided to just retrofit the seasonal story structure into a longer drawn out season and it feels off in almost every aspect.

We're also suffering from the fact that yet again the core playlists have been left in the dust. Gone are the days where in a annual expansion we got entire vendor refreshes and 3-5 pvp maps and strikes let alone gambit arenas

What killed it for me was coming back after a short break... running two battlegrounds for the story and then getting the NES004 quest-- which involved running 5 MORE battlegrounds, focusing engrams AND THEN RUNNING THOSE SAME BATTLEGROUNDS AGAIN.

For me there's always a pretty sudden and severe comedown going from an expansion campaign back to seasonal content and core playlists. Seasonal content doesn't get me excited and probably never will.

I don't mind timegating story beats, but episodes feel like we've timegated timegating. Weapons are timegated and focusing is further timegated, season pass levels are timegated and progress suddenly stops for weeks, timegated missions are timegated

The entire concept of episodes was a false narrative to justify only doing three seasons per year while charging the same amount. Classic Bungie nickle and diming.
  • Saint and Osiris’ personalities seem to have mostly just become, “we are a couple.” Would be nice if there was a little more depth besides it.

I feel like the problem with episodes is that they focused on making seasons bigger instead of making them better. They keep saying how the Act 3 exotic mission is the biggest one they’ve made, but what do we do if the quality is on par with Vox Obscura.

They needed to change the over world. The patrol zone needed to be impacted by this stuff.

Because the reality is DLCs in destiny 2 doesn’t really change the game overall but adding a small aspect of the game. So after finishing the story you are back to the same bullshit you were doing before right after

As a writer, the conductor needed to be released week 2, latest week 3. Fact they aren't the focus when they are already all over the art is insane!!!
  • I do not understand why dlc’s can’t be a thing anymore instead of seasons.

Destiny 2 has next to no sustainable engagement. The recycling of content and systems has hit a wall.

I feel like destiny focuses too much on linear story hits, but that's not what keeps players long term. What we need is more core content and more in-depth mechanisms around that content. Bring back strike specific loot, make grandmaster battlegrounds it own activity vs strikes, giving them season adept loot or something. Add fun content that stays in the game and diversifies where you play
