  • Dave, your a legend! No clickbait, no effing around. Just straight to the point. You’re probably my favourite LifeHack/Gadget YTer!

Oh my, you've just taken a 60 year old back to her childhood and into her mothers kitchen. I remember my mam had the hand whisk (used weekly as she baked every week, the multi mouligrater (used at every opportunity I could think of to get it out the box, my fav item as a kid), the tomato matic (used mainly around party time/christmas when we were having buffets) and then the saw (I never actually seen it being used, it just sat in it's box on a shelf in the pantry). Thanks for the memories😁👍

We have a Mouli grater. It's stainless steel. It was my grandparents. Now, my mom has it. Then, it'll be mine eventually. Still works like a charm. The older stuff usually does compared to new stuff today. We always use it when we make pimento cheese. We always use the fine grater insert.
  • The last gadget is exactly what the Olive Garden uses to grate cheese, but only used the last blade. They sell them at their restaurants also.

“DAVE JUST USE A KNIFE!” From the, “Are kitchen gadgets better than a knife?” video from November 2022. “Pretty cool huh?”

I think people born in the 80’s-90’s remember that lemon juicer from either in their home or a friends home. My mom had one 🥰
  • Forgotten happy childhood memories unlocked with that whisk! Thanks Dave ❤

Onlyrecently my mum purchased that very hand saw for frozen foods at a charity shop. I found it was the only thing that i could cut my frozen blocks of Herring roe's. Loved it.

My granny had the multi grater which my mum bought for her at the Ideal Home Exhibition, I think in the late 60’s. She used to love when I stayed over on a Saturday night so she could peel the carrots, turnip etc and I could use the multi grater and she could start her huge pot of soup for the whole family coming for Sunday dinner. The only alternative then was a hand grater which was hard work when you had a lot of veg.

I have the tomato flower cutter thingy! It came in a party set that my mother bought in the 80s! It still works great...but we only ever use it if we have big dinner parties which happens once every blue moon 😅😂

I always have a soft spot for vintage gadgets! Some time they just cant be beaten!

Kitchen Robot seems great for everything except peeling.

I've still got my grandmothers hand whisk like you used here. It's great. I don't have to take out a big electric thing for smaller tasks. It's easy as heck to clean. And it's so easy to turn. You'd think something like that that's over 35 years old would give you alittle trouble, but no, it turns with almost no resistance it's amazing.

We had a mouli grater when I was growing up. It only had one drum that couldn't be swapped out and we used it exclusively for cheese. I've been looking for one for over a decade and now that I finally know what it's called, I can get one again. I loved that thing

These are all amazing, the quality is evident by how long they lived
  • @Karin-
There are modern versions of a couple of these things that I know of - the rotary whisk and the grater thing with the "barrel type" attachments. It would be interesting to compare the "modern" version and the older version.
