November 25, 2019 was the day my 19 year old son was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. In the past four years, he has been through bacterial meningitis, cerebral swelling, a second cancer diagnosis of CNS Lymphoma, 10 bone marrow biopsies, over 100 spinal infused chemo treatments (think epidural each time), three chemo pills, a STEM cell transplant, 30 spinal and cranial radiation treatments, 6 week coma, many blood transfusions, and much more. His white blood cell count was over 200,000 that night. The oncologist that came in to talk to us that night told us he would not make it to Christmas. He is still with us. There is power in prayer. Just remember God has a plan for everyone at all times. We may never know what those plans are, but know when she is called home, she will be free of such an ugly disease.

I lost my sweet innocent sister at 18 to Leukemia. Its a horrible thing. Nowadays they have come so far with treatment, there are a lot of hope for remission. My sister was at UVA hospital in Charlottesville, Va. She was the first female at that hospital to get a special chest katheder at that time, 1981 to give her blood and treatments They made a training film of her. My mom never got over her death.

Rachel, I came across your video by chance, but I feel as of God led me to it. In 2019 my 19 year old son was diagnosed with AML. His WBC count was also over 100 thousand at the time of diagnosis, and he had it in his spinal fluid. He underwent 5 inpatient month long rounds of chemo. Those rounds included so much medication, so many tests, etc. The good news is that as agressive as AML is, it can be cured. My son is coming up on the 5th anniversary of his diagnosis this March 5th. He got married in 2022, and last fall he and his wife (miraculously) welcomed their daughter. Please know that this cancer IS curable. One of the most important things to remebr is to stay positive. A positive mind goes a long way to healing the body. Be strong for your friend. I will keep her in my prayers.

A dear friend, who also lives in Salt Lake City, had AL Leukemia and was part of a trial. I don’t know if she was in your friend’s hospital. It was really rough, BUT, the good news is she is fine now and thriving. If you would like to touch base with her (and of course with her permission) I could put you in touch with her. Blessings to your friend and to you.

Oh God, Rachel. I lost a sister to cancer and her journey through it was the toughest experience ever. I so understand the depth of your feelings. Prayers definitely headed up!

Oh my gosh, I am praying for your friend Danielle. I will say a special prayer with my staff on Friday as well. Praying for your strength in this difficult time as well. I can only imagine what everyone is going through. Sending my love <3

My dad was diagnosed with AML in 2021 and he had a specific mutation that was thank god favourable and had a newly approved immunotherapy combined with Chemo and whilst it was a hell of a year for him and his whole family, he has now been in remission for 2 years!!!!! It is survivable, especially in someone so young! Obvious I cannot promise her prognosis of course, but I just want you to know that there is hope out there! And no matter what, your feelings are soooo valid, and I went through soooo much anticipatory grief with my dad and it has taken years to reach a point where I no longer feel like I could lose him any second! So your anger, fear, anxiety, grief, hope, stress etc. are all such valid emotions! Sending you all my love! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I have commented on your tic tok. I am a AML survivor. I also went through with my grandma and a very close friend. It is so hard when someone close to you is going through such a hard thing. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I have been a survivor since 96.
