it's ironic that the Parthian intro goes on about wealth and gold, when Parthia is a really hard faction to turn a profit with...
-
The brutii sound like fucking super-villians. and I love it.
-
Carthage's intro is the creepy one... "And... I think the children will be quiet tonight" - is a reference to the infamous carthaginian children sacrifices. Masterful work, CA!
-
you would expect all intros to sound mighty and optimistic but Carthage is scared as hell lol
-
Funny how parthian narrator talks about conquest, when the infantry wears pink pajamas
-
“There can be no peace. No peace with Romans! Men of stone and iron and lies!” I always loved that line.
-
I like how in the Carthaginian intro, they say the Romans are the masters of falsehood, that is a reference to how the Romans conquered Carthage and the Carthaginian sources were destroyed. Thus the Roman side of the story dominates the history books. Also, in the Parthian intro, they say invaders come here but they do not leave, is a reference to the battle of Carrhae.
-
What I love about the Scipii intro is that the narrator sounds like a proper fucking psychopath and mad with power.
-
Ah, back when faction intros actually motivated me to play the game
-
It's interesting to hear the Romans given American accents - it's not grating or overpowering, and a nice break from the stereotype of them sounding British and aloof.

I can;t take the catharge one seriously ith that voice

Brutii campaign is by far the easiest, because Scipii and Julii are going for less populated, poorer areas and Brutii are going first for Greece and then Asia Minor or Egypt. Easy access to wonders. Play as Brutii, build only temples of mercury then traders then ports, then capture the Collosus of Rhodes and you will have infinite money.
-
So annoying when the Scipii intro cuts out.
-
-
"... a thousand warriors are the start of a empire" mean while in game : loses the campaign with 10,000 warriors TRIGGERED
-
Am I the only one who really digs the Carthage intro? I can picture an old priest going bonkers over visions of both glory and destruction by Ba'al. Plus that music is super sweet.

GREEK INTRO THE BEST!
-
So sad that these factions all have such proud intros and yet most of them are inevitably destroyed. Only a few or perhaps even only one survives in the end.
-
8:08 that's a pretty sassy "no"

Gods, I hate gauls, Alexander did
