I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL. I am a Stage IV Colon Cancer warrior in remission.
THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE. This is my story...

Early colorectal cancer signs can be subtle. In fact, it is reported that this type of cancer can go virtually undetected until it is in advanced stages. Watch how mine progressed. If you see any of these signs, please call your doctor immediately. Especially from #3 on...

This woman is truly remarkable. She is dealing with her own health issues, yet selflessly advocating and caring about the well being of others. She is an inspiration. Thank you for making this video.

there is no better advice than from someone who's been there.
  • I had Colorectal Cancer, Stage 3, the symptoms were there, I was diagnosed with it when the bowel movements became difficult, they found a tumor, between the size of a tennis ball & Baseball. They did a " Hemi- Collectomy ", removing the Tumor & several feet of bowels, then re-connected the bowels. Prior to surgery my symptoms were frequent bowel movements movements that were sometimes difficult, but I went for an exam & they kept me & did the surgery the next day. I have been fine since then, & so grateful 🙏 to the Drs.

Grateful for your candour and examples. No one should be reluctant to discuss these things. We are all adults reading this and we all poop. Knowing and discussing can save lives. I think we can all agree dying is worse than embarrassment.

no one likes to talk about this or hear this BUT it's so important, thanks for telling us. Side note, you have a good presentation style, easy to hear and easy to understand.
  • Doctors refused to listen. Doctor after doctor after specialist

I like the way you used candy to demonstrate how your stool looked. Very clever! I appreciate your candor. Another tip: follow the current guidelines on getting your screening colonoscopies. I did. At the time, 50 was the recommended age to start. I had one at 50 and it was all clear, no polyps. So my next one was at age 60 where a very small polyp was found. Turned out to be stage 1 rectal cancer. Thankfully surgery was the only treatment I needed, no chemo or radiation. I was so grateful I didn't procrastinate (and I have very good health insurance) about getting that colonoscopy because I had NO symptoms that would have otherwise sent me to the doctor. Years earlier, when my dad was 80, he was also diagnosed with stage 1 colon cancer. He is still with us at age 93, living independently.

I just lost my brother from colon cancer, he was 48. Diagnosed stage 4 at age 46. No symptoms except a bit of fatigue, until he started pooping blood. He was very fit, healthy, didn’t smoke or drink.
