This song is just another level of extremely emotional and artistic music

[Verse 1: M. Shadows] Our truth is painted across the sky In our reflection we learn to fly No hand to hold us No one to save us from tomorrow [Chorus] Sailing away, beyond the reach of anyone Far beyond the dreams of everyone No light to follow A shot in the dark Does anybody know? Sailing away, beyond the reach of anyone Far beyond the dreams of everyone High from the heavens I can't see the pain Does anybody care? [Verse 2] Think for a moment of all the lives Stripped of their essence before their time We stand to conquer But is there nothing left tomorrow? [Chorus] I’m sailing away, beyond the reach of anyone Far beyond the dreams of everyone There’s no light to follow A shot in the dark Does anybody know? Sailing away, beyond the reach of anyone Far beyond the dreams of everyone High from the heavens I can't see the pain Does anybody care? [Spoken outro: Neil deGrasse Tyson] "We have one collective hope: the Earth; and yet, uncounted people remain hopeless Famine and calamity abound Sufferers hurl themselves into the arms of war People kill and get killed in the name of someone else’s concept of God Do we admit that our thoughts and behaviors spring from a belief that the world revolves around us? Each fabricated conflict, self-murdering bomb, vanished airplane Every fictionalized dictator, biased or partisan, and wayward son Are part of the curtains of society’s racial, ethnic, religious, national and cultural conflicts And you find the human ego turning the knobs and pulling the levers When I track the orbits of asteroids, comets and planets Each one a pirouetting dancer in a cosmic ballet, choreographed by the forces of gravity I see beyond the plight of humans I see a Universe ever-expanding, with its galaxies embedded within the ever-stretching four-dimensional fabric of space and time However big our world is, our hearts, our minds, our outsize atlases, the universe is even bigger There are more stars in the Universe than grains of sand on the world’s beaches More stars in the Universe than seconds of time that have passed since Earth formed More stars than words and sounds ever uttered by all humans who have ever lived The day we cease the exploration of the cosmos is the day we threaten the continuing of our species In that bleak world, arms-bearing, resource-hungry people and nations would be prone to act on their low-contracted prejudices, and would have seen the last gasp of human enlightenment Until the rise of a visionary new culture that once again embraces the cosmic perspective: a perspective in which we are one, fitting neither above, nor below; but within"

If a metal or rock song is 8 minutes or longer, just know, your in for a hell of a ride

Jimmy left a beautiful gift for his brothers: He opened them to the soul, to the deeper understanding of existence and spirituality. The passage from anger, from the rude and less conscious sound (always wonderful) to the melody of awareness. It’s amazing to see the growth of a band and especially of the human beings that make it up.
  • Truly a masterpiece. I always say that their best songs are the really long ones. I Won't See You Tonight Part 1, Strength of the World, M.I.A, A Little Piece of Heaven, Save Me, Exist. Every song they've ever done is amazing, but for some reason these songs have always stood out to me and kind of represent my walk through life. Thank you A7X for making music for someone like me, with BPD and a shitload of other diagnosis peace at mind.
  • The Stage will always be one of the best prog metal albums of all time. The haters are those that hated a7x from the beginning of time

I just heard this song for the first time in a few years... wow. Made me tear up in public. The speech at the end really just ties a beautiful bow for this wonderful song. Thank you A7X!
  • I'm convinced this is A7X's Magnum Opus. Idk how many people feel that way; I'm not even sure if the band feels that way themselves. It's just that, to me, this song captures the essence of mankind's existential crisis: how paradoxically, we are both infinitely small in the universe - but how we also have our place and play our part. We have just as much significance as anything else in the universe, and we have just as much of a right to... well... Exist.

I have found peace, this shall be the song played at my funeral, if someone doesn't like it, I will have them thrown into outer space
  • @KevinLuWX
This is hands down the best song they've ever composed.

At 5:20 it drops you from the enigmatic heaviness to a sense of zen if only but for a moment just to be brought back to the existential awesomeness of another wild ride. So much raw emotion and power in the riffs and bass cords. So much truth in the lyrics and the ending voice over. Makes us truly think that maybe perhaps instead of fighting over race, or religion, we should come back together. Set aside differences. Realize we are one race. The human race.
  • Gotta admit, I never expected to hear a 15-minute song from Avenged Sevenfold of all bands. Let alone one this good.
