The bond in oldschool has been out of control lately. Sure historically the price of bonds goes up over time but this year alone its gone up over 8 million gold. Today we are going to diving in to the specifics of what is happening. What is causing this level of gold inflation in osrs, and how expensive will bonds be in the future.

Were also going to be covering all of the biggest price changes this month. Thanks to upcoming updates like the project rebalance and varlamore part 2, there is a lot to talk about this month.

Thanks for watching

IRL currencies are just being devalued. Recommend ppl move their money into OSRS gold as a hedge!
  • @SparcMac
It hurts my soul the Armadyl Godsword is equivalent to a Bond in price right now
  • @ividosrs
Remember when they said no more new gargoyles or zulrahs then poceeded to make even more insane drop tables? Now we even have low lvl mobs with crazy gp/hr...
  • The short answer: Because Jagex didn't learn nothing from RS3's economics problems. The short explanation: If you print money with new broken bosses and don't establish a way or mechanic to burn that money, you get inflation.
  • @Discokrieg
Osrs economy getting the IRL economy treatment.

Zombie pirates being in the wildy is balanced from a player perspective, but whether it's the player, the bot, or the PKer that walks out with the loot, all of that is still being brought into the economy. They are the exact opposite of a gold sink. Fever spiders seem like someone forgot to add a 0 to the end of each item's drop rate, save for the Kwuarms. A level 42 slayer mob should not be that lucrative. Making everything 10x rarer would not have them be a money task, but rather a low level task where you might leave with a few small upgrades and a bit more money.

Lowlife 1 through 108, I'd imagine that had some effect.

being in the wilderness doesnt mean its "balanced" if someone dies there the money still comes into the game. The wilderness adds entirely way too much raw GP.

We're almost hitting the point where a Fang is cheaper than a Bond, while Tbow and Shadow are basically impossible to farm for people who don't already own them. This economy is going insane.

To give an idea of how expensive these are, the rs3 bonds were ~15m in sep 2017.
  • I believe the new group boss was confirmed in the dev stream to be draconic and dragonbane works on it
  • @tnylilrobot
Bought 10 bonds for $55 in mexico. So 130m for $55. Jagex is gunning for gold farmers livelyhood

the OSRS 3a items skyrocketing above max cash suspiciously coincides with RS3's max cash changes which prevented people manipulating the market on mega rares like party hats
  • @xJabro
fever spiders adding alchables in large numbers goes against recent game design principles, im shocked by it

I googled "why are osrs bonds so expensive now" and ur video was top result. Lots of ppl are sharing your video in osrs groups on fb rn. Great video i learned a lot from it instant like instant sub.

Inflationary content and the max cash stack limit are issues that need to be prioritized by the end of the year or we're going to start running into big economic problems.
  • I know this is kinda random but I used to do alot of zulra back in the day before some of the nerfs to drop table. So I had bought like 1500 zulandra teleports for around 150-200 each (cuz they were that cheap back then) and once my membership ran out I just stoped playing RS for couple years. Imagine how happy I was once I logged back in into my account after those years and went to kill zulra, only to notice that my teleports who were worth 150-200 gp back then are now worth 20k each.
  • The Aztec Serpent boss is going to be considered a dragon. I was watching the Jmods on stream and someone asked if dragonbane weapons worked against it and they looked at each other like it never crossed their minds. After they said “it will now”.

Steam regional price changes hit Argentina and other regions at the end of november 2023, it goes up a bit prior but Ill be honest that was one of the main reasons. Alternate region pricing for bonds was approx 2$usd per bond in those regions. since the change they now use USD currency and as such are now the same cost. Loads of people connected osrs accounts to alt region steams for cheap membership and cheap bonds
