Refreshing my starter locs | one month since installing

Published 2024-07-29
My hair loc journey begins…
Starter locs installed June 16, 2024 by me. I started them using 2 strand twists.
I’m not a loctician or a hair stylist. I decided to do them myself to avoid depending on someone to do my hair, I can control how often I retwist my hair & the tightness. I will also save time & money. Thanks for watching🥰

📱Social Media update…
This is the best place to follow me. My instagram account is private now. I have a small following on there & rarely create a post so you’re not missing anything lol. However, eventually I will delete it permanently. I’m on a journey to have 1 social media platform & I picked youtube. That might change in the future because the comments can be brutal at times. You have the option to delete & block comments but sometimes it’s not worth even dealing with all of that. Overall I feel this platform is useful where I can learn things & in return maybe someone can learn from me as well🫶🏼

I'm not into locs, but I just wanted to stop and tell you I missed you. Glad to see you back on the tube.
  • I tried it once, my and my hair would not lock, I think my patience just left me at one point. Lol. Your locks look good, trust the process.☺.
  • I was locked for a little over 2 years and I was the only one doing the retwist. What i can tell you is that you do run the risk of untwisting at the beginning but that is perfectly fine, water speeds up the locing process especially if your hair is a tight pattern. And I agree, for the 2 years that I had my locs I only retwist/moisturized my hair with water (aloe vera water to be exact) and oil. I did this because I knew i did not want to keep them in for long so when I took them I i kept all of my length. also, too much product will weigh your hair down and pull your edges. I loved locs because of the low maintenace

My locs are 1 month old, and I did it myself. I started them with interlocking as well as instant locking the softer curls in the back. When I washed my hair today, the instant locs stayed together, but a few interlocked babies completely went back to loose hair, which bummed me out. So, I decided to re-interlock them, and hopefully it will all be okay.

Braid and band the tips. 💕💕 Wash your hair more often.
