Did a Hersheypark trip last year. It was pretty great actually. My biggest criticisms are they need some more indoor family things to do and better food that’s not sweets.
  • I think you also gloss over the fact that Hershey has the best theme park hotel I have ever experienced. The food was fantastic, the grounds of the hotel were *gorgeous*, there's free chocolate at every counter and on your bed each time it gets made, on top of all the usual amenities. its just all around such a great hotel and is one of the main reasons i want to return to Hershey park at some point.

This was the video we all needed.......my home park and I'm glad that I'm not the only one who now thinks this

You make some great points. Honestly the only major issue I see with Hersheypark, especially since it's my home park, is its awfully slow operations. It's a great park and I love it to death, but something has got to give with the ops.

I went to CP this year and it was really poorly ran. Multiple coasters were down for maintenance issues several times per day. Maverick was closed for over half of the day. It was also sort of a weird vibe with dragster being down. It was my first time back since the incident.

I went to Hershey for the first time this past summer (which is crazy giving its only an hour from me) and I couldn't wait to come back when I left. I think you really hit the nail on the head describing its quaint, family oriented vibe. Its incredibly Clean ,safe and attracts a good crowd of people. Im moving to Florida in 2023 so I wont be as close, but will definitely visit again.
  • Have always felt strongly about Hershey since they got Skyrush. Its been my home park on and off my whole life. But the new RMC just pushes it over the top for me. Cedar point is worth the 5 hour drive once-twice a year. Hershey is worth the 1 hour drive any day of the week.

I personally have never been to Hersheypark but I have been to Cedar Point and while the lineup of Hershey is elite, im gonna give layout to Cedar Point. I think CP has a vibe of the new mixed with the old and I really love it. Oh! I think a park to contend with CP other than Hershey could be Kings Island.
  • Hard disagree on "quaint" it doesn't feel quaint, it feels cramped. What gets passed off as "small park charm" is just a glaring space issue made even worse by the ever growing lines at Hersheypark. Cant get anywhere without fighting through a line

It’s not that Hershey will be better, but it makes it so that since the ride line ups are close to equal, it can come down to what vibe you look for in a park

Hershey’s vibe has always been my favorite. I’m glad other people are starting to see this park the way I do!

I live about an hour and a half away from Hershey and have gone there every year since I was a kid. It’s a great park but it doesn’t come close to CP. CP has the better coaster lineup (which you proved trying to prove Hershey has the better lineup, lol), a better atmosphere (I’ll take the beach and island feel over candy theming everywhere), and is more of a destination park. I also for one love how Cedar Point feels so big and spread out, it makes everything feel like a new adventure rather than crammed. HP may have better food though, I’ll give it that. Overall though Hershey might be a more UNIQUE park, but CP is by far the better park.

I am a huge coaster enthusiast, but I don't have the privilege of visiting these massive amusement parks very often. I basically get 1 park a year so when I go, coasters are my top priority. I value coasters 100x more than anything else because of how rarely I get to ride them (and I have to imagine my situation is pretty common). SteVe, MF, and Maverick being better than everything at Hershey more than justifies visiting CP instead. Plus, the location of CP is pretty spectacular. The view (especially from MF lift hill) is just unreal. I still think Hershey is a top 3 park in North America, but CP is in a tier of it's own for me. I still enjoyed the video, it was cool to see how differently we view the same thing
  • I understand why CP was used as a reference for the best park in the US, though I feel you could make a really good argument King's Island tops both of these. Most enthusiasts agree SteVe beats out King's Island's top coasters of course, but the level of quality of their lineup applies here, but what really does it for me is how well the park is run. Kings Island, compared to Cedar Point, has excellent operations and very little downtime on rides, a massive selection of merch for every ride, and very kind and welcoming workers.
  • It will be very hard to compete with parks like CP that arguably have better coasters, or Silver dollar city that has good coasters AND good theming

Another banger vid by coastoons! Keep up the good work bro👍
  • My home park is Hersheypark. I just visited Cedar Point this last summer and you are completely right! CPs coasters are better imo, but Hershey beats CP in everything else.
  • @exoticmythic
Well done. Although I haven’t been to either park and I’ve only stood outside of hershey park in 2019 before chocolate town. I would have to agree!🎉 congrats
