The phylum Cnidaria contains such creatures as jellyfish, anemones, siphonophores and corals. Together, they consist of around 13,000 living species - surprisingly simple, yet beautiful organisms. The importance of these cnidarians cannot be understated. Coral reefs are formed of many millions of cnidarians and are home to staggering biodiversity. Jellyfish are important predators in the open ocean food web, but they serve as food for many other species as well. Sea anemones fulfil a similar role but in the shallows, also serving as hiding places for clownfish. Thus, this unique and abundant group of creatures is integral to the function of many marine communities, from the open ocean to coasts and the benthic zone of the deep sea.

I am studying to become a Marine Biologist, and I exclusively study Cnidarians (primarily Corals and Anemones). Thank you so much for creating this magnificent and breathtaking masterpiece! You have created one of the most outstanding and informational channels on this whole platform. There’s almost nowhere you could see this amount of biodiversity in one video about Cnidarians ANYWHERE on the internet. Good job and please continue doing what you do! Human beings need to learn and appreciate these little known organisms as much as we possibly can, they are one of (if not the most) important phylums in the whole entire Ocean. And have been for over 500 million years.
  • I never realised corals and and jellyfish fit under the same category, they look so different at first glance
  • I appreciate that these are just facts without mentioning current world issues, that are ultimately depressing. Learning about the world's creatures and geography in itself is so fascinating and provides a great escape from my day to day reality.
  • One of the best YouTube channels you gotta use this as an asset when you apply to university
  • So a correction, it's not an immunity the clownfish has. It actually builds up an amount of the toxins and such the anemones emit, into the natural slime coat that all fish have, and the anemone no longer recognizes it as a fish and things it's just part of itself. They can't just go around to any old anemone

Leo, I’m simply amazed. Every time you upload a video I’m overwhelmed with incredible editing, a wonderful atmosphere, and an amazing narrator who I know puts absurd amounts of effort into weekly videos for free. I saw in another comment that you had an A-level exam, and I sincerely hope you did well because the world needs more marine biologists and you are an amazing candidate to be one. I wish you only the best in life because everyone here knows you deserve it.

I can't sleep a lot of the time, and i have a pretty physically demanding job so it can start to add up and weigh on me, but your voice and obvious love for creating is so relaxing to me. i never found animals as interesting as things like space or plants, but now ive found a new love for oceanic life and i realise how miraculous it all is. thank you for sharing your love with me, and everyone who also watches and loves all of your efforts <3
  • My God, this channel is above all. The production level is insane and that narration is just too good. The learning is enjoyable. The narrator should be rewarded...
  • Such a great video! I’ve always been fascinated by cnidarians in particular. They seem so other-worldly yet so simple. Beautiful creatures.

Narrator's voice gives me ASMR and I <3 it... their almost androgynous voice warms my ears
  • @JessicasASMR
I’m eating popcorn watching this like it’s endgame lol I love this

I've been following the B1M channel for months now, fascinated by their narration, skills in writing and editing, and their overall superb quality. As a Biotechnology student, I've been looking for a natural-sciences-based channel with their level of quality for a long time. I've finally found it. This is the B1M of Biology.

Whom ever does the narration of these gorgeous films has the most ethereal lovely soft perfect voice for not just these topics , but for narration in general. This beautiful voice adds the most quintessential touch to these already gorgeous videos. ❤
  • @mankosdream6138
this is currently my favorite channel. i’m an art student but looking at all these different marine life forms is strangely calming and inspiring. thank you for the high value and i look forward to your future endeavors!
  • @aprillotuss
I love how much teamwork and trust that other sea life has with Cnidarians. It's so incredible to see. Thank you for this video!
  • This was much needed change of pace after studying for CURSED mathematics all week long 😭
  • @lettuce388
The moment I heard Lemmino's Cicada 3301, I stopped all action to listen to how Portuguese Man o' Wars eat food with all my attention.
  • @hirskyiTikych
I usually have these documentaries in the background when doing something, and that I heard Subnautica music and was like "Dam, that's some quality production here".
  • @JohnPeacekeeper
You know, your voice is pretty soothing and I think fitting for a channel like this. Actually feels like official documentaries on National Geographic. Keep it up.
