  • As eye-rolling as his back-story is, he WAS designed to mirror the Blaxploitation movies of the time, & they managed to hit every beat.

Power Man and Iron Fist was one of the best comics of the 70's and 80's. I loved it, as a kid.
  • I FUCKING love LC!!! He was always one of my favorite MARVEL characters....FULL DISCLOSURE, I can relate to him across the board, from youth, incarceration, reemerging, redemption , and FINALLY FULL MATURITY!! ...plus being happily married to woman outside my race!!! I FEEL LIKE HIM AND BLACK PANTHERS CHARACTERS WERE OVERLOOKED FOR FAR TOO LONG!

I remember the library in my highschool had a Luke Cage: Hero For Hire omnibus. That was my first exposure to Luke Cage and I've been a fan ever since.
  • I am still angry that the show was cancelled None of us got to see how Luke was running Harlem or got to see Diamondback make his infamous Return
  • I collected Luke Cage and Iron Fist comic books in the late 70s. I just love seeing comics that I've read come to life on the big and small screen! SWEET CHRISTMAS!!
  • Great origin story and Mike Colter did an amazing job with the role.
  • I learned saying "Sweet Christmas" from a late 1970s Luke Cage: Power Man book...my strict catholic Mom heard me and I got grounded, said I was taking the Lord's name in vain ... so I have one thing to say...SWEET CHRISTMAS!!!
  • You do an excellent job with narration. I enjoy the 80s vibe that you give with these origins. Keep up the excellent work and I hope one day that you’ll do the origin of Spiderman.

You forgot about Luke paying Dr. Doom a visit after the latter tried to skip out without paying him and that Luke fought Power Man for the rights to the name. 🙂

I was waiting for a Heros for Hire TV show. I hope they fix that. All I heard in my head was the Luke Cage theme song.
