Jk Rowling had a hand in choosing the main casts Thank God, they asked her. She knew exactly that Rickman was perfect as Snape.

The AI clearly took the prompt "Harry has green eyes" VERY seriously 😂

Sirius and Lupin look just like how i imagined them reading the books

it's amazing how many of the actors look like the ai generated pictures from the books description, must mean they did a great job casting most of the characters.
  • Making Umbridge look like a nice ol' granny instead of the ghastly humanoid toad she's described as in the book was the right decision. It puts her evil in that much higher of a contrast.

That was brilliant. The only thing missing was Voldemorts red eyes

I cannot imagine how magical it must have been as an author to see the world in your head come alive on screen
  • The Dursleys ones are so accurate. Vernon being dark haired, both dudley and petunia being blonde, even petunia having that horsey face
  • Tom riddle and Harry looked liked they could have been related, which is very accurate because it was pointed out multiple times how similar they are in appearance.

Fun fact: the director of the first two movies (Chris Colombus) tried to convince JK to relocate the movies to America but she outright refused. Then he tried casting Harry with an American actor, but again she refused and said he needs to be British, like the book. I'm glad JK didn't give up the entirety of her franchise to Warner Brothers, otherwise they'd have ended up VERY differently and wouldn't have kept anywhere near the same spirit of the books. Thankfully she overlooked the production, kept it as close to the novels as possible and they ended up being very decent films. God knows what would have happened had she lost her grip on the series.

Imagine if they had cast an American actor as Snape, we would have missed Alan Rickman's incredible talent, his deep voice and his beautiful British accent. As a Spanish I can say that the British accent is the most beautiful of all.

I realy like that the images created with AI have a certain expression in their face that matches the demeanour of the character, this is brilliant

I think the most impressive thing the AI recreated in there is Narcissa Malfoy. In the book, she is described as beautiful but looks like she is smelling something foul at all times. The AI version looks just like that.

I always did envision Mcgonagall as younger than she was... still, if you can get an actress like Dame Maggie Smith, you obviously do it.

luna tonks bellatrix minerva and snape's castings were PERFECT not just baes on their appearence but the way they actors brought their characters to life.

this is what a perfect casting looks like

Professor Umbridge finally looks as scary as she is 😱
  • The thing about James and Lily people forget is that they were in their early 20s when they died. They were young parents. Snape is technically in his mid thirties, Alan Rickman portrayed him perfectly, the only discrepancy is his age, being twice the age of his character. I think it's more emotionally impactful when you met your dead parents and they're only a few years older than you, seeing your father at eye level, disheartening. The actors were cast long before that was known, so no blame there, but I'm glad at least here it shows them to be at the appropriate age.

As an old Percy Jackson fan I respect and envy how the Harry Potter movies actually cared about casting actors that both looked like and well represented the characters.
