This video explains the features and functions of the Minecraft "Pie-Ray" technique, recently brought to light by kemytz 5. I do my best to break things down in a manner that makes sense to a broad audience. My hope is that I can inform and inspire others to understand more about the technical aspects of the game. Please let me know your thoughts in the comments section.

Check out the kemytz 5 video that started it all: “Secret usage of shift F3 graph (Pie-ray)”:    • Pie Chart - Secret Usage of Shift F3 ...

Nice. This is one of those tools that you see speed runners using ALL the time, but there are practically no guides out there for it. Awesome video.
  • @KueeMCSR
Under rated. You're really good at explaining
  • Cycling the Render Distance with the Shortcut (F3 + F) is NO LONGER POSSIBLE in versions 1.19 till the current one. It got removed in the version "22w12a". So even tho the Pie Chart was underrated, it is hard and takes a while to use.
  • holy crap. im not a speedrunner nore do i know much about the f3 page; yet i was able to understand everything in this video. You're so good at explaining

Instead of going to an adjacent chunk and repeating pie ray for fortress distance estimate, you should set the render distance to 1 chunk less than the spawner, and just walk into the adjacent chunks. Whichever direction shows the spawner coming up, will be the direction of the fortress. This could save quite some time, especially in speedruns

As a Modded Minecraft player, the thing I hate the most is having to find a Nether Fortress, especially in early game without flight. And many many mods like to use Blaze drops. So this video is extremely helpful. Thanks a lot!

Wow, I did not expect to see that you had less than 200 subscribers! This explained very well, you need more subscribers! :D

I think a great strat I will start to use is by starting the nether by looking for a fortress in the first 20-30 chunks. Then, if there is a fortress, I will not reset and I will e ray a bastion. I will play the bastion and then figure out where the fortress is. Thanks for the help in this vid, this will help everyone’s runs a lot

First: this is the only video that gave me just what I needed, and I was trying around 10. Second: I actually understood everything you say. This is amazing. Love you!
  • This is awesome and in depth! I kept getting the quirky reload and it was confusing me, nobody else had mentioned it in a video. Thank you!!

Why are you severely underrated? When I searched up for this I saw your video and thought it was lame until I watched it. This video was awesome. I finally can show off in front of my friends thanks to you!

I found this video looking for a way to optimize my mob grinder and left with much more knowledge than I anticipated. I cannot wait to try these new tricks on my world and reach new heights. Thank you, Boomer, for your wonderful tutorial. Overall, I would say that this video was very understandable and well put as you made sure to cover enough for me to understand what I'm looking at AND know how to utilize this tool, all without overwhelming me.
