Published 2023-11-03
The release of South Park Joining The Panderverse has done something nobody else has been able to do until now - made it safe to call out the BS coming out of Hollywood. It almost makes you wonder who will stand up next.

"Put a chick in it, make it gay and lame," is one of those lines that cuts right to the heart of the issue and will be quoted for years to come.

The sub plot of no one knowing how to fix anything and repair men becoming billionaires was also great.

If the scientology cult could not take down South Park, what chance does Disney have?
  • @cyberwaste
Going after Matt and Trey would 100% backfire. I'm ready to see that.

Kathleen Kennedy’s name being drug through the mud in front of general audiences was a godsend
  • @AstralDragoon
For my part, I'm not willing to believe that Kathleen Kennedy's decisions were not of a malicious nature. This woman personally stated that she was not interested in hiring any men to work at Lucasfilm, and smugly posed for photos with her "The Force Is Female" T-shirt. If she were merely an out-of-touch businessperson trying to appeal to popular trends, you would think the backlash would have altered her creative strategy prior to, say, her attempt to gut the legacy of Indiana Jones.

South Park is like that one kid that dared to laugh at the emperor's 'new clothes' in that folktale, and then got the whole crowd laughing later on 😂
  • @RichSmithson
Its the turning point where Disney need to realise that not only the hardcore fans have turned on them, but so have the casual normie fans.

Panderverse was solid. We live in a clown world right now

I think it’s ridiculous that it took this long for people to realize or “feel safe” to criticize this crap. It’s been so tired for like four years now…

The way they glossed over bob Eiger as a Character, WAS exactly what they were intending to do. Eiger has a HUGE ego, and the way he simped to Kennedy in the episode must have WRECKED his fragile mind.

Now that most IPs are dead, South Park is one of the few series left that has a message to send.
  • @toh6261
The South Park boys are meme masters (member berries). And the whole "Put a chick in it and make her gay and lame", is sheer genius. Disney will NEVER be rid of that stink 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  • @jaegerbomb269
Im so glad Disney is stupid enough to go after Matt and Tray. Proof that we can take a joke and Disney can't. 😆 🤣
  • @TheUnseenPath
It’s never been unsafe to criticize what Disney doing people were just scared because they thought they would lose everything but if they stood up in the beginning, none of this would’ve happened
  • @jeffreyriley8742
I'm annoyed by the attitude of, "Now that South Park is criticizing her, it's important!" No, the criticisms were valid long before South Park jumped on the bandwagon.
  • I think the point is being missed with Southpark being apparently “safe”. I think they do that on purpose, so that it’s more subtle. It’s really hard to say they are making a direct parody, because they create a fictional character, but in reality everybody knows exactly what they’re saying, because everybody’s thinking it. Moreover, Disney couldn’t claim that there’s any slander, because it’s obviously made up. They’d need to essentially admit to all their faults to accuse Southpark of slander. That’s why it’s clever.

The best low-key joke of the whole show was alternate universe Butters Soulfully singing his "I got some apples" song.😂😂
  • Panderverse was a slow burner episode. One of those episodes where the jokes hit the first time, but then they stick in the back of your head for WEEKS and get even funnier.
