From my bad-ass Region 2 DVD of Gojira tai Destroyah. It's a collection of photos taken by me with brilliant music. All Godzilla and related material including but not limited to characters, images, and music are © TOHO Co., Ltd. No copyright infringements are intended.

Godzilla marched headfirst into this final showdown with Destroyah at the peak of his power and absolutely nothing to loose. Never before or since has he been this dangerous.

I love how the opening notes have a slower tempo, almost hesitant in how they start out, before finding their footing and growing more confident with each note. It’s like it mirrors Godzilla in this scene. He’s old, dying, and just lost his son. Even if he manages to beat destoroyah, he still loses. But then as he steps forward, just like Ifukube’s final rendition, he begins to March. He begins to find his rhythm, and prepares to give his all one last time. Just really great work on Ifukube’s part, using Godzilla’s own theme to paint a picture of what’s going on in Godzilla’s head for his last fight.

Can we all appreciate that Toho knew how badass this version of the song was so they played this very same version in “Godzilla 2000”?

Even in his final moments, living in intense pain and fighting an almost unstoppable demon, Godzilla still manages to be the unstoppable deity he always has been, and this theme perfectly encapsulates that.

"I have a feeling this is going to be Godzilla's last fight." - Miki Saegusa

Ah yes, the last Godzilla Heisei march theme. The best one out of the other heisei march themes, but yet they all are great!
-
I love this slower version
-
The main theme never gets old. It is a classic.
-
Every bit of music in theme of godzilla in this film feels like a death countdown
-
I can feel Godzilla's rage towards Destoroyah because of what he did to Junior!
-
Perfect theme for getting ready to fight mr krabs final form

So, so good. I love how we just get to see Godzilla march uninterrupted with different camera angles to this slower version of the Godzilla March theme; it really sells that this is the finale of the Heisei series. Even the brief moment it is interrupted is great, showing Sho Kuroki quietly piloting the Super X3 to the climactic battle with a focused expression on his face.

By far, the best version of the Godzilla March.
-
Am I the only one who would pretend to be Godzilla when one of his marching themes came on?
-
This is possibly the best Godzilla theme.
-
Fitting for Godzilla’s final March.
-
This slower version is so rich. It fits the king to a 'T'. Revenge? Conquest? They both have one thing in common; and that is they are to be taken slowly
-
Every time I Hear this theme, It Really brings Tears To My eyes.

Really enjoy how heavy the beginning of the march sounds, fits in with the theme of the movie perfectly.

Nice idea, but I like to think of it as Godzilla's last stand because it plays when Godzilla gets up and fights Destroyah for the last time.
