James Gunn Addresses Jensen Ackles Batman casting in Batman The Brave and The Bold

Besides, Ackles already plays Batman. The actor lends his voice to the Dark Knight in DC's animated Tomorrowverse continuity. That role could lead to one of two paths, with Ackles' experience voicing Batman either being good for the DC Universe — which will have actors play their characters across different mediums — or being bad, as that would bring some unnecessary baggage to the DCU. As The Brave and the Bold currently has no script finalized, any possible decision on the new Batman actor, be it Ackles or somebody else, should be at least a year away.

If there is any character that you can cast an unknown for, it's Batman. It's friggin Batman!! You don't need a known actor to sell this. Go out and get the best 35-40 year old possible. Even if it's someone no one has ever heard of.

Now I might be wrong here and completely way off base, but to my knowledge not many are saying he is the next Batman people are excited for Batman Brave and the Bold and are fan-casting him as they would like to see him as Batman not many are saying he already has the role as he is fantastic choice and deserves the role after his performance in the Boys
