  • Reminds me of the Dad's Army throwaway joke where Fraser is telling one of his spooky stories about a friend who robbed an ancient temple and was cursed by a shadowy figure. "What happened to him?" Asks one of the others. "He died." Cue shocked looks. "Last year. He was ninety-seven."
  • That immediate transition from grave robbing v archeology to a MyHeritage has me DYING ON THE FLOOR 😂😂😂
  • We had a similar curse in Poland. When the tomb of Casimir IV Jagiellon (a king of Poland) was opened, people died. The news of a curse spread far and wide. The culprit turned out to be Aspergillus flavus, a nasty type of fungus.
  • Before air-conditioning was common, in summertime offices had fans. Yes, it was quite gusty inside. Paperweights held papers on desks.
  • The Sphinx: “A big rock with it’s nose broken off…” 💀

The plot of the Lord of the Rings is that a group of friends take a hike to a volcano and have lots of adventures along the way.

I’ve seen many documentaries speculating how violent Tut’s death could be judging by the state of his remains, but recently one YouTube channel commented that it was actually Carter’s team that hacked at the poor mummy in the process of excavation/examination. I’d be pretty pissed at such indignity too.

Yes, Simon, antibiotics are amazing! I had a kidney infection and sepsis last year. I was hours away from death. (I don't remember much because I was too busy hallucinating and blacking out.) Thanks to antibiotics, and to the doctors and nurses, I'm still here. More importantly, I'm able to watch every video in the Whistler-verse! 😁

Minor tangential correction: 'elective' in a medical context has to do with urgency, not how necessary a surgery is. My granddad was next door to the cardiac ICU's nurses' station and had been resuscitated twice before he got a stent put in, but it was still an elective procedure.

Wow! That ad read was longer than one of Danny's intros.

‘How about taking some responsibility’ cracked me up that 🤣🤣

This is probably one of my favorite of Simon's channels. His tangents and calling bs on this stuff is just so delightfully entertaining!
  • Not gonna lie, I was really skeptical about this episode being any good. But once again, Katie came through. The in depth research took a topic I've heard about again and again, and actually taught me new things. I didn't come into this episode believing in King Tut's Curse, but I did believe this episode would be boring. I was wrong and I throughly enjoyed listening to it.
  • Fact boy is going to get cursed for making fun of the pharaohs curse 💀👿☠️👹
  • Simon, I absolutely LOVE watching you talk lol. Yer so funny. My 9 month old lights up when she sees you come on the tv. We really enjoy spending hour after hour listening to your various channels. Keep being awsome! With much love from Ga, -heather & daisy
  • I like how the curse manifests itself as health issues that were very common at the time, and frequently deadly. Also... Apparently being murdered in undoubtedly seedy "gentleman's" clubs, and suicide are evidence of curses?

"I love that shit. I love theme parks! I went to one last weekend! ...Mostly for the kids. I had a lot of fun." Simon, I'm pretty sure you are one of the kids. 😂

The Mummy with Brenden Frazier is a favorite of mine too.
