Had to pull this up and share it again. 50 years from touchdown, 7/20/69 to 7/20/19. I was a month shy of 4 years old, and I remember that day.

I love this song. I cry when I hear it. It really defines the need to reach for the stars and beyond our planet.
  • @snobahr
The song always makes me cry, and the imagery just completely shoved me over the edge.

Beautiful song. I hope it inspires a new generation of space explorers which return to the Moon

I cry when I hear this song, because I know what has been lost and abandoned. We should have bases on the Moon and Mars. And be reaching farther. But human's lack of vision and self destruction instincts have ground us down.
  • Beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this. I hope you plan on doing more Ecklar (and Fish, Alexander, etc) :)

To all of those who think that because we haven't been back to the moon that the dream has been abandoned-- it hasn't. Just because the government no longer has interest doesn't mean that nobody does. Every year we're closer, as companies and individuals with their sights set on the stars plan and design and test. The space race continues, only now it's in our hands.

You might want to check out the 'filk' videos done by YouTube user thuvt. He's done some amazing work with other Leslie Fish songs, like "Surprise."

It's hard not to tear up watching this video on the day of the last US Space Shuttle flight. Where will we go from here?
  • @Owlpunk
