RIP to Ron. Thank you for talking about this Joe, our society doesn't talk about death and loss enough, and I appreciate you sharing it in a thoughtful way. All the best.

What really sucks is that people wait to tell how cool you were until you're dead. Don't wait people, tell your loved ones & friends how awesome they are when they are around. A good solid hug feels great too!

My uncle passed away when I was six. I never really thought about it back then, because I was a child. I've actually never really thought about it until recently, when I picked up the guitar he left me. I really wanted him to teach me how to play it, but I gotta figure that out myself. And I hope he will be proud in phantom form, once I figure out how to do so. Love you Robbin, though I never really knew you that well.

Thanks for sharing a little of his story Joe, and sorry for your loss. I only met my uncle once briefly when I was 10 when he was waiting on our doorstep when I came home from school one day. He smiled and asked if I knew who he was and I wasn't sure until he said "I'm your uncle". He had trouble with the law through much of his youth and my mom wanting to protect us kids thought it best if he wasn't in our lives and told us kids to never let him in the house if he ever showed up, so that's the way it was. When I was 20 and he was 52 he called my mom on his death bed in the hospital suffering from cancer and heart disease and they had already amputated his legs and he was gone by the time she got there. Later we learned by going through his possessions that he held a modest job and enjoyed himself by painting, playing music, and going to jazz clubs. Wish I could have known Anthony better while he was around, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

This was a nice tribute to someone you cared about. It doesn’t matter how close you were, he was family and you cared. He seemed like a good man.
