  • You got my vote for videos on Sundays. Needless to say, I enjoy the heck out of all your videos. Keep 'em comin'.
  • @bobcruse512
Lettuce is a cool weather crop. it needs to be planted early for a spring crop.. Warmer weather causes it to be bitter and tough. Planted in early fall the cooler weather makes it tender and sweet.

Your freezer would make a good retirement home for the old chickens
  • The retirement home for chickens is the freezer, the stew pot & the crock pot.
  • The retirement home for chickens and roosters is called the deep freeze.
  • While I really enjoy watching all your videos, I think you should keep Sundays for yourself and your family.
  • Hey, Nathan ! Just wanted to let you know that I absolutely LOVE to watch you in the garden! Thank you for sharing with us and PLEASE take us along with you more often !!✌🏼

Retirement home for elder chickens: the freezer.
  • @Hellyers
You need to dig a French drain a yard or two away from the edge of the barn. That'll sort your drain issue out!
  • Boy I miss having a garden. Just seeing it grow and then getting all that fresh produce. Beautiful. I red on of the comments below about that drain pipe and have to agree. The only other option is to let the natural water flow take place and then add gravel where you need it to keep the mud from getting too deep. I always used crushed river rock (we called it #4 if I recall correctly). because it begins to interlock as it gets compressed and forms a nice sturdy base. Great video as always Nathan. Thanks!

It's good to see you doing other things , keeping busy behind the scenes
  • In southern Pennsylvania I hear them say they "pick a pile".... if it is a lot.... it's a pile. I have had my eye on an EG100 edger ever since Bunyan a couple years ago. I hate cutting flitch up on a manual mill. I don't need an edger. I WANT an edger. Ha! One of the greatest outdoor YouTube channels. You've inspired a lot of people, Nathan. Including me.
  • 1) Sunday is a good day to catch up chores. 2) We retire our friendly older hens to "Official Bug Catcher's Squad". They still will lay a enough eggs and eat enough insects to justify the retirement.

Over here in the Shenandoah Valley, my tomatoes just started ripening last week. Now, they are coming out of our ears. Your garden looks great! Love the Sunday "piddling" videos. I don’t own a dump trailer. I just looked it up, and over here #57 is going for $48 a ton delivered. My goodness!
