It was a typical morning when Elaina’s parents received a call from the doctor, confirming the unexpected result of her bloodwork: “We think it’s leukemia.” Elaina’s family packed their bags and headed to Children’s Mercy Kansas City where Elaina immediately started receiving therapy and care from the Hematology/Oncology team.
