Avoid both Cards and Coffee and Bleecker Trading if you’re looking for Pokémon in NYC. Cards and Coffee has completely fallen off. Management is awful - not only do they not know anything about Pokemon, but they’ll try and rip you off if you’re looking to sell or trade by offering 50-60% on whatever your cards are actually worth. They also recently sold my friend a light vintage pack for the price of a heavy, which is super scummy business. Next door at Bleecker Trading isn’t much better. They have slightly more selection, but everything comes with a MAJOR West Village tax. They’ll bend over backwards negotiating deals for a YouTuber/influencer, but their buying practices for the average Joe are just as bad as the shop next door. Most of their slabs are SGC and the staff knows nothing about Pokemon either. The shop is tiny and super claustrophobic if there’s anyone else in the store. They host trade nights, but it’s 99% sports cards anyways. Save your time and money - avoid Cards and Coffee and Bleecker Trading in NYC.

That last shop is awesome. Really cool stuff and not super crowded like a Collectacon would be.

5:02 Tbh if I am buying cards from a store I would like for the people selling them to actually know what they are selling. I'd expect that much at a bare minimum. Not the price of every card in existence but at least larger items... Of course the tin has packs in it that was kind of a dumb answer. That salamence tin has been reprinted recently... the back still says 2019, but it has modern silver and lost origin packs within. It also says "Vstar" on the back in a paragraph letting you know its a repacked tin and not the original. You could get cheated out of a purchase if they told you it was 2019.
