We took a cruise excursion just 2 kilometers from an active volcano. Our cruise ship the Caribbean Princess made port in Reykjavik, Iceland. My buddy Don ‪@Donsfamilyvacations‬ and I made our way our into the lava field for some time at the famous Blue Lagoon and then we explored Rainbow street in the city center of Reykjavik. Was this a wise choice?

Would you do a tour close to an active volcano?

You’re walking tours are always the best! I so enjoy your humor‼️🚢
  • We went to the Blue Lagoon in 2022. You are lucky it’s open or even still operating - was worried it was going to be destroyed. Lots of people say it’s touristy but we loved it. Iceland does an excellent job monitoring volcanic activity.
  • My daughter and I loved the Blue Lagoon when we were in Iceland. I appreciated that they limit the number of people who can be there at a time.
  • Tony, you are living the Life!! Appreciate you taking us along, you are a great tour narrator! You and Don look refreshed and younger, any stress melted in the warm water! Keep your great enthusiasm and sense of humor, we love it!!
  • Jenny won't recognize you when you get home! You're 10 years younger Loved the view down the rainbow 🌈 road
  • Blue lagoon was closed when I was there the first week of June because the volcano was erupting. I've been there before and loved it. I went to the Sky Lagoon instead. It's my new favorite. The water is clear and not blue cloudy. It doesn't have all the silica in the water. It's still mineral rich. Look it up for the future, It's supremely cool. 😊 Its 100° here in Maryland. I'd really rather be in Iceland!!!❤
  • Is it ironic that you are on the CARIBBEAN Princess in ICELAND 😊
  • Love this series of videos! Happy to see you two together, keep on enjoying it!

I love when you share your adventures. I want more! The cold beer in the hot lagoon was priceless! Oh and sharing it with your best friend 😊
  • You were brave to go to the Blue Lagoon this week given that the geologists are saying another volcanic eruption is imminent!
  • I was in Iceland in 2012 for photography tour. My friend and I went to the Blue Lagoon 3 times in 10 days. It was March, so was snowing. I loved the crisp, cold air contrasting with the thermal waters. We just used our hands to scrape the sides of the lagoon to get the mask.
  • The last time I was in Iceland, we went to the Blue Lagoon as soon as we landed. It was the best way to beat jet lag. It beats sleeping in the lobby waiting for your room. With the volcano activity I'm surprised it's still open.
  • I heard of the lagoon. I love the water 💦 so the blue lagoon would be a kick! You’re a fantastic tour guide, Tony! Thanks for sharing! 😊

No, I would not do a tour near an active volcano. I’ll watch you do it, though😂

It’s changed so much since 2018. I was there on a cruise. There was no building when you got off ship. Thank you for taking me along because now I wanna go back.

Oh boy, Don declares they are BEST friends…wow….. wow,,,,,, the thermal waters of Iceland with a cold beer? Best excursion of 2024 🎉

When I retired in 2019, one of the stops was in Reykjavik. Loved the Blue lagoon. Got to spend 2 hours in that warm 98° water. Loved it. I follow you and Don consistently.

I was stationed in Iceland at NAS Keflavik. I was a member of the 57 Fighter Interceptor Squadron, the Black Knights. I loved going in to town to the municipal pool in Keflavik The weather you saw was typical for a summer day in Iceland. One summer day when I was there it was so warm and sunny we all went out in our t-shirts. It was still only about 65 degrees, lol. There was a pile of snow from snow plowing the parking lot, next to the USO. There was still snow there on the 4th of July, lol.
