For some reason I have always had an intuitive feeling that Sam Harris speaks and works in bad faith. He hates religions-all religions.

The man just went on the record saying that it's okay to lie to take down anyone/anything that scares you. Why would anyone ever believe anything he has ever had to say?

This is why you don't trust people with a purely utilitarian ethic, because when sufficient cause is enough to justify any means. Any means will always have sufficient cause.

I remember I caught this when he did that interview. I talked to my hardcore atheist conservative friend about it, whose hero is Sam Harris. He agreed that Sam Harris was dumb and wrong to say that about trump. So I told him, "Well, if he is willing to lie, cheat, and do whatever it takes to make sure he doesn't win, would it be fair to say he would do the same for Christianity?" Friend: Huh? No, no, absolutely not. He is intellectually honest when it comes to religion.
